Sometimes its necessary to make a card that just doesn’t include pretty papers.
I only said sometimes though. :0)
Usually, of course, this is when it involves a boy, and for Olly’s leaving card, I knew that I had to pull out all the stops.
Olly never fails to make me laugh, smile and likely roll my eyes, and although I have mostly only hung out with him when he was under the influence of a few tipples at the pub, its easy to see that he is a genuine guy. And I have a lot of respect and love for people like that.
Another thing that I love is that I don’t think Olly knows how to take life seriously. And we can all learn something from him in that respect. Life’s too short to be unhappy or grumpy, or serious…live life with a smile. It’ll feel much better I promise!
If any of you know this Olly, you will know why I have made this card, as he is the only guy i know that can grow such an impressive beard in a matter of days! Although there is simply no excuse for such a cringeworthy pun! haha!
This was the first card i’ve made using my birthday pressie, my Wacom Intuos 4 (thank you Bear) and it was so much fun. It’s taking a while to get used to it, but it is definitely much easier than the other graphic tablets i have used before. Two thumbs up from me!
So here is my first digital card. Okay, I admit, I missed using buttons and ribbons and bling….but at least i got some fuzzy felt paper on there to add a little texture.
Thanks for stopping by, and Olly – We miss you. xo

I use a lot of pre-scored card blanks, I guess its just a comfort thing, and they are quick and easy to grab, and i don’t have to worry about making my own envelopes, but i’ve been experimenting recently with cutting up 12×12 scrapbook paper/card instead. I have discovered that its so much fun to cut the 12×12 square into 12×4 strips and then fold in half, and I love the way this makes a tall card that has a fold along the top. Its quirky, and I love it!
As a complete step out of the comfort zone, I cut up a piece of black cardstock to challenge myself into using this as the basic of the card.
Here’s one of the results. I also managed to use a few scraps from the scrap tub, which is always a great thing, and I managed to play with another one of my newest cuttlebug folders. The blue dotty paper is glittered so it didnt photograph well, but it looks fantastic in real life – very shiny!
Stamp is from the hero arts thank you messages clear stamps which I picked up on sale. I love ‘em.

Why don’t you challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone today- i bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised…

Hey everyone,
Happy Saturday!!
I want to share a secret layout with you today.
I made it earlier this year, a couple of months before we found the pink lines. I hated waiting every month, just counting down the days to see if this time, we might be lucky. Well, that is if it has anything to do with luck.
There were a few months of disappointment, and a whole lotta frustration, not to mention a few hormonal temper tantrums, but finally we got the two lines that we were hoping for. But every time, there was always that feeling of excitement. The wondering. The imagining. The waiting. A bitter sweet experience to say the least.
So, sorry for making you wait until I shared this with you, but we wanted to be past the dangerzone before we announced our family plans….and anyway, they say that good things come to those who wait!
xoxo

I can confirm the bags are packed, ready for our short trip to northern ireland.
I simply cannot wait to:
See the family
Show them my bump
Meet up with Charlie P, Bex & Root
Hold baby Lewis and marvel at how much he has grown
See Nick again
Eat a Chicken fillet special from Kennys (drooool)
Visit the ‘party shop’
Go shopping with mumsy
Raid Shelly’s maternity clothes
Hopefully eat another chicken fillet special from kennys… (seriously, its THAT good!) :0)
…oh, and so much more. There definitely is a lot to cram into a few short days.
But luckily, before I packed the camera, I managed to take a few photos of finished projects which have been lurking in the craft room! After all, I want to keep you inspired whilst i’m away!!
Today’s card is a pretty, girly thank you card – all pinks, flowers, and frills…and of course a button or two!
Enjoy, and wish me good luck for a sicky-free flight. pah! :-p
