MAN-day Monday – Another super card for a Super Man in your life

Another Monday, another MAN-day Monday. Today’s card is kinda inspired by last weeks Super Mario card. Being the wife of a video gamer means that cards like these are always well received. I love the simplicity of the Nintendo characters and thought it would be SUPER easy (haha) to recreate the star for a card.

I used a star cookie cutter die from Quickutz and used my scissors to round off the points. Next i punched two holes in the star using my cropadile, one just above the other, and used my craft knife to slice between the two holes. This created a long oblong shape to look like an eye. I obviously did this twice so my star could have two eyes (how else would it be able to see?) Then I punched a circle from black card and stuck it behind the eye holes.

For a simple background I embossed the circle using a cuttlebug embossing folder, and used black to create a high contrast between the background and my little star. The greeting was simply printed using my computer and printer and i matted this using red cardstock.

Mens cards don’t have to be complicated.

🙂

Oh, by the way, watch out for my Thanksgiving video tutorial coming up soon, with 4 free downloadable journaling cards. I am hoping to have it up in a few days. If that sounds like fun to you, maybe you should check out one of my previous Thanksgiving projects, also with a downloadable journaling card – check out this post called ‘I am thankful

Love this card! If only the star really granted invincibility… 😉
