Clamshell Tag Peekaboo Card with Lawn Fawn Stamps {video}

Hellllllllllo Hello!

Its sunday! and that means its time for another Hungry Heffy Crafts video, and today I am sharing a peekaboo card.

I’m not actually sure if that is a real term, i kinda made it up 🙂 , but i think it works!

I’ve used some landscape dies to cut a section out of card, which creates a fun wave aperture. I thought it would be funny to create a seaside themed card to coordinate with this wave section on the card, so i pulled out some of my trusty Lawn Fawn stamps.

I have used the Year 6 ‘Shellfish’ stamp set, along with the ‘Mermaid for you’ and ‘critters of the sea’ stamps sets. The stamped images have been coloured using copics and the background made using some distress ink.

To create a focal point for the card, I added a little die cut tag on top, and built an underwater scene featuring the little oyster clam shell image. It sure is a cute one!

I love the stark white against the vibrant colours. It makes my heart sing! fa-la-la-la-la!!

As always, you will find more details in the video tutorial…check it out!

🙂

Have a happy weekend!
Lesley

    Hi there!
    I’m loving your mermaid and shellfish card,! I only have one problem: I need to find a tag die like the one you use that actually die cuts inside the tag leaving the white border outline to stack up so it’s thicker and therefore adding dimension to the outline of the tag. I only have solid tag shapes so I can’t have that nice white raised trim. Could you please tell me what your tag die is called and where you bought it?? I can think of lots of uses for that kind of tag. I’m trying to copy your project as I purposely bought the stamp sets so I could do so. I just love your card idea and actually all your card ideas !!( I’m subscribed to your website:) . Thank-you so much ! Veronica ( vrohm@shaw.ca)

      Hi Veronica,
      Thanks for the comment. The tag die is from paper smooches and i believe it is called gift tags 2. it cuts the frame and an inside piece, and also cuts a hole for the tag. Happy Crafting!
