Hoppy Easter – No Line Watercolouring Using Distress Inks ft. Gerda Steiner Designs

I have never been one of those organised people who start making their Christmas cards in July. I think it’s because I don’t like putting pressure on myself to create, as the seems to be a sure-fire way to make the well of creative juices dry up! The very fact that I have made an Easter card BEFORE it’s even the month of Easter makes me feel very organised! WHOOOP! Even though technically, it kinda just happened organically because I wanted to play with this cute bunny stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs called Happy Hoppy.
For this card, I am using the no line watercolour technique but instead of watercolour paints, I am using distress inks…. so does that actually make it a no-line inking technique? Maybe!

I am so in love with the way my elements turned out, so soft and sweet –  but you will see in the video that I made a booboo! Here’s a quick phone photo of the elements before the whoopsie…

Normally I add some glitter with my Wink of Stella glitter brush marker, but closer to hand this week was a new tool in my craft room – the spectrum noir glitter brush pen. After I used it, sure enough, there was a layer of glittery magic, but it actually saturated the paper and a lot of the detail disappeared. Boo! I guess it reactivated the distress inks. Ah well… you live and learn!

I just think this little bunny is so adorable! I can’t wait to use him again!

Be sure to watch the video to see the full card making tutorial. Have a great day!
