Another weekend over, hope you’re ready to start the week all over again!

I’ve had a busy one this weekend, because Craig and I are house hunting! Yeay!! Between searching online, booking appointments, checking out local areas and calculating the budget, its been hard work. But I know it will all pay off. I hope it all goes smoothly!

Another thing in life just now – at work we are preparing for fundraising day. We are selling raffle tickets to raise money for Debra, Macmillan cancer appeal and X, but we are also hosting a fundraising day to help gather some money for such a great cause. We are having a ‘Guess the Name of the Teddy competition’, so after buying a cute little bear in town, I put together a quick page using freebie digital scrapbooking kits. {By the way, it was Criag’s idea to put the name ‘Andrew’ in there?!!?!? I don’t think anyone would name their teddy Andrew?! Would they?!! }

We are also doing a “guess the number of sweeties in the jar”. We are trying to figure out if we can put together a jar easily ourselves, but we may go for this pre-made charity jar. They count the number of sweeties already and email it to you so you don’t have to count them yourself. I thought that was a crackin’ idea!

The other thing we are doing is a Treasure Map – where you guess where the treasure is hidden. Of course, I jumped at the chance of drawing the map, and i’ve been having lots of fun with my distress inks. Here’s what it looks like so far: (dodgy phone camera photo)

Okay, so with a weekend full of house hunting and preparing fundraising ideas, I had to make a quick and easy Miss You Monday card for Sarah. So this is it:

Products used:
Fly free stamp – Unity Stamps
Butterfly stamp – Unity stamps
Mask – I made this myself, I simply cut out a heart from thin copy paper.
Distress ink – Worn lipstick

Three Years Today ♥

Its our anniversary today.

Its been three years:

Since they told me that I wouldn’t be able to sleep the night before the wedding, but I was so exhausted that I fell a sleep the moment my head hit the pillow.

Since the morning in the hair dressers when three stylists had to crowd round me, armed with GHDs and hair spray so that my hair would be curled in time

Since my mummy helped me step into my big princess wedding dress

Since the day I stood on our doorstep and familiar faces from my childhood life crowded round with cameras at the ready, making me feel like the most important person on earth

Since I whispered to my dad ‘walk slower!!!’ as we walked arm in arm up the red carpeted aisle

Since I looked into my husband’s eyes for the first time {♥}

Since the one and only day that I simply could not eat anything because I was just far too excited!

Since I crawled under a table to hang out with my nephews, who were covered from head to toe in chocolate sauce from the fountain

Since I jumped of my chair with excitement when I realised that dad had brought Bear to join in with the celebrations.

Since we twirled around and around on the dance floor, feeling rushes of adrenaline as my dress floated and your kilt whooshed and whirrled

Since that first dance as Mr & Mrs. Even though the sound quality was just awful, it didn’t matter, because we were having the time of our lives!

Since Charlie P followed me to the bathroom with a crochet hook, and unhooked the dozens of buttons to make your life a little easier! ; )

Since Sarah broke into the honeymoon suite, scattered our bed with rose petals and left us a midnight snack

Happy Anniversary Craigy bear. i love you.
x

Love Liquid Pearls

Just a quick one today, but I wanted to show you an easy way to add dimension to your cards. I love adding a touch of glam by sticking gems or adhesive pearls to projects. But, look at this!! These little pearlescent drops are not adhesive pearl embellishments but are Liquid pearls from Ranger. Little bottles, very similar to Stickles, full of pearl liquid that can be easily applied to projects, with a fine applicator tip that ensures that only the exact amount come out when you need it.

Heres the magic tip: when you apply a dot of the liquid, sometimes it will have a little peak, but if you flick the underside of the card with your finger, or gentle tap it with the end of a pencil or paint brush, this will actually flatten out the peak, to create a perfect little dome. And it looks uncannily like an adhesive pearl. Same great effect, but definitely a more cost effective solution.

Products used
Anitas distressed lines rubber stamp
Unity April KOTM – One of a Kind Stamp & butterfly stamp
Ink: Stormy skies & Chipped Sapphire distress ink
Liquid Pearls: white opal
