Miss You Monday – Making My Own Piece of Summery-ness

Hey everyone.

I’ve had four days of illness, and I was only really able to get up and about yesterday evening. I was thankful that I was able to have the energy to make a Miss You Monday card for today. After all that time in a dark, germ-infested room, I wanted light and summery-ness. Well, I wasn’t going to get it outside, so I made my own little piece of happiness with this card.

Sometimes I just love Hero arts stamps so much that it hurts! I picked up this fab background stamp a little while ago, and I wanted to use it, but in a slightly different way – a background with a difference. Of course my distress inks were my first craft-comfort after a week of non-crafting, and I turned to my two favourite colours: shabby shutters and broken china. Yum yum.

I’ve been wanting chipboard flourishes lately, and as this was my last Bisous chipboard swirl, i really must buy some when I next see ones that I like.

Thanks for looking.

These are so quick and easy to make, and are perfect gifts, especially for teachers or friends. Check out Jennifer MaGuire’s video here which walks you through how to make one of these cool Bookmark Cards.

For mine, i’ve used Raindrops stamp from heroarts, and a heart swirl stamp, also heroarts. The bird is a stamp from the Unity Stamps June Kit of the Month. I’m not sure where the little ‘be you’ stamp comes from, its been lurking in my stash for a little while now. Doesn’t it look mega cute!?

Have a great day

Feeling Yellow! ♥

Nothing quite like the colour yellow to get you into the summery mood! Its the colour of sunshine, sand and sunflowers, bananas and buttercups…oh, and this card! ♥

This stamp has been lurking in my stash untouched for quite nearly three years. Bought in a random toy shop on our honeymoon, i was so thrilled to find a shop that sold (a limited amount of) stamps that I simply couldn’t not buy this set of clear stamps of teddy bears. To be honest, some looked a little mis-shapen and odd, but this little dude (or dudette, i can’t quite tell) seemed to jump out at me when I was making this card.

The papers are from two different collections from two different manufacturers, lemonade by Basic Grey, and Bloom and Grow from MME, but i love the way they compliment each other. ♥

Thanks for popping by, and don’t forget you can leave me a comment here.
