Hi ya,

A HuGe BiG Thank you to everyone who has been sending us their congratulations on our big news. We are so excited to be joining the ‘Mummy & Daddy Club’. The last few weeks have been rough, but I am thankful that I am now beginning to feel much better, and my diet has expanded from mashed potato and soup! I know I’m Irish, but mashed spuds and soup were starting to get a little tiresome!

And guess what else – I even got to play in my craft room this weekend! That is a sure sign that I am getting back on track! Yippppeeeeee!!

Here’s a sneaky peeky of a layout that i’m going to be sharing with you real soon…

But for today – a card to share. This has been in my box of cards for about three weeks now and for some reason it always manages to escape the photo shoots! I confessed to Hayley and Glenn that they definitely are getting a card, so the pressure is on to get it in the post to them! Ha ha! They must be in their new home about 2-3 months now – whooops!

This was my first play with my new Spellbinders scallop border die. I actually accidently bought the bigger one when I fully intended to buy the small one, but never mind. Of course I realised my mistake before opening the package, but I simply just cant hold something crafty and not play with it. I figured I would eventually buy this one too so I’d just keep it. heehee! Because i’ve been so sick, Craig is spoiling me rotten, so he was just glad that I was able to do a little crafting, even though this card to days to make because of the nausea.

The beautiful background paper is from the Quite Contrary line by My Minds Eye! I simply love this paper pad – so summery and bright, and definitely very girly, perfect for cousin Hayley. The greeny blue paper is also from MME, but is from the Bloom and Grow paper pack, which is getting rather thin im sad to say – but I guess thats a sign of a good purchase! I’m sure theres a few paper packs on my shelf that haven’t ever been opened! EEk!

The ‘New Home’ greeting I actually printed out on the computer – although I was so sure I had a New Home stamp in my stash – but I couldn’t find it, so i’ll just need to keep my eyes open incase I see a good one for sale. If you know of any, please let me know.

Oh, and the stamp is Unity Stamp Co…of course!

Thanks again for popping in.

Have a great day.

Rossanowlagh Beach – Summery Memories!

Hey everyone,
Today I have a scrapbook layout to share. It’s funny how a single photo can bring back so many memories.

When we were growing up, summer holidays were full of fond memories of Rossanowlagh Beach. Every year we would go, with either friends or family. When we were very young, the beach meant jumping the waves with mummy, or building sandcastles. As we grew up, the beach meant playing with velcro-catch and digging massive dad-sized holes, and eventually it meant playing frisbee and catching the rays. No matter what we were doing, the beach always meant fun!

So the last time I was home in Northern Ireland, and Mum and Dad mentioned a trip to the beach, I jumped at the chance of re-living my childhood memories. I couldn’t help but take a photo through the car window of the ‘wee house’ that is the iconic feature of Rossanowlagh beach. All those memories came flooding back with just one glance of that stone structure. It makes me happy!

And so, it needed to be scrapped! With happy, bright summery colours, perfect for the beach! It was fun putting it all together.

Love it!!

Thanks for stopping by.

(p.s. just figured out that Rossnowlagh doesn’t have an ‘a’ in the middle. Whoopsies! ah, well, it did in my memories, so i’m not bothered’. hee heee!)

Miss You Monday – Scooter Side Step Card

Hey everyone! It’s Miss You Monday time! And great news, I had a message from Sarah this week, and the end is in sight so we are all very excited that baby will be here soon ( she is due early September). Although Sarah is still very ill, her spirits seem to have picked up a little, which is great! Yeay!

I had lots of fun with this card – can’t you tell?

This quirky little card takes a little bit of mathematics to start with, but once the measurements bit has been done, and the creases are in place, its simply a case of decorating the panels. Apparently, this is called a Side Step card (I don’t know who comes up with these names!?)

I always loved this scooter stamp, but hadn’t gotten round to using it on a card yet. so I thought i’d give it a whirl. One thing I particularly love is that the pieces are really easy to cut out, so as I stamped the image on different paper, it was really easy peasy to cut out the different panels and re-assemble. I am loving the finished design.

The papers are from the ‘Quite Contrary’ line from My Minds Eye’. A 6×6 stack came free with a card making magazine, and knowing the fantastic quality of MME products and the fact that i’ve always been drawn to their designs, it was a no-brainer when I saw the magazine. I can’t wait to use some more of the pages to make a little mini book or two.

Lets talk chipboard! I’ve used two chipboard pieces, (from The Paper Mill shop I believe) one of which i have covered with pink pearlescent embossing powder, and the other I sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer spray. This gives one a pearl glassy sheen, and the other a flatter, pearlescent look. The brad in the middle is a fabric brad from Trimcraft, I believe its the Laura Ashley range.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great Monday!
