Miss You Monday – Tree of Love

Another card today for Sarah, using the cutest stamp set from Hero Arts, called ‘whoo loves you‘. I’ve used two of the stamps, the tree and the little birdie. I made the shaped topper element using a nestabilities die from Spellbinders, and blended a little ink onto the white card stock to create a subtle colour to represent sky and grass.

The flourish part of the card is another one of my fave Hero Arts stamps, used with Perfect Pearls to create a little shine, and speaking of shine, a little touch of stickles add a bit of sparkle to the card too.

I am so glad that I topped up my supply of glue dots before making this card, as they really were indispensible. I used the glue strips to adhere the lace, the pop up dots to adhere the topper and to create dimension, and the didi dots were perfect for the little tiny butterflies. Awesome!

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment here.

Grunge Paper Book Marks

Ohhhh these are fun!

Not my original idea by any means, but it was one of those times when your mind explodes as your creativity opens up into a world of possibilities!

I got some Grunge Paper a little while ago. I was looking forward to getting it for soooo long, but then once I got it in my hands I had lost interest a little. But that was my own foolishness! Sometimes I can be a daft numpty!

The Grunge paper is so very cool in many ways – you can do so much stuff to it, ink it, stamp it, die cut it, mould it, mist it….. and probably much more that i havent even tried yet! So I am loving it, not to mention the fact that the smell reminds me of a pet store – in a good way, not in a ’someone needs to clear out the pen’ kinda way!!

These grunge paper bookmarks are an ideal gift because they are ‘out of the box’ unusual, and they are really quite quick to make, not to mention the fact that you can create some fantastic textures which give these bookmarks a hugh PAZAZZ factor!

You really need to give these a go – but just two quick tips. Make sure you ink your grunge paper before cutting the fringe at the bottom as this will give a better inked result, and also please know that when embossing onto grunge paper, this may warp / curl slightly. If this bothers you, you may want to make the bookmark out of grunge board – but as this material is thicker than the grunge paper it may not dry emboss as well and will certainly not be able to be used with your die cuts.

Thanks for looking, and please make my day by leaving me a comment here.

Ever want a card that is a little different? Well, this card is funky, fun and perfect for both boys, girls, ladies, men and kiddies too! I’ve called this one, ‘High Tide’ and it could be used for a birthday or even for a Bon Voyage card.

In the video, I walk you though how I made this card, and I use a number of my favourite card making techniques – masking, using distress inks, rubber stamping, adding a special touch with Perfect Pearls. I hope you enjoy the video and will give it a try yourself. (You can see the HD version on YouTube)

But before you watch the video, I think its time for something exciting…well, two things really.

Firstly, now that the holiday season is over, the Paperclipping Monthly challenges are back! So hop on over to the challenge section of The Crop Circle to see the challenge topics for this month, and some great examples by kristyn.  This is a great way to get back  into the creative swing again.

Secondly….

after Christmas I decided that it was time to do a little purging of the craft room, so I think it is time to have a giveaway – well, everyone loves some blog candy don’t they?

I’m gonna put together a mix box of crafty goodness, who knows what will be in it, but I already know that there will be paper, embellishments, stickers…. and lots more!
