Feeling Yellow! ♥

Nothing quite like the colour yellow to get you into the summery mood! Its the colour of sunshine, sand and sunflowers, bananas and buttercups…oh, and this card! ♥

This stamp has been lurking in my stash untouched for quite nearly three years. Bought in a random toy shop on our honeymoon, i was so thrilled to find a shop that sold (a limited amount of) stamps that I simply couldn’t not buy this set of clear stamps of teddy bears. To be honest, some looked a little mis-shapen and odd, but this little dude (or dudette, i can’t quite tell) seemed to jump out at me when I was making this card.

The papers are from two different collections from two different manufacturers, lemonade by Basic Grey, and Bloom and Grow from MME, but i love the way they compliment each other. ♥

Thanks for popping by, and don’t forget you can leave me a comment here.

Happy Friday everyone, and welcome back for another Teacher Thank you card as part of Hungry Heffy Crafts Teacher Appreciation week.

This card is dedicated to all the teachers of Brookeborough Primary School.

To Mrs Carson, who always brought us to watch The Snowman at Christmas time, I loved the atmosphere of the whole class sitting cross legged in front of a tv with our eyes wide open and mouths gaping.

To Mrs Taylor, who would bring us on Teddy Bear picnics to the park, and introduced me to a variety of craft styles during my favourite afternoon activity – arts and crafts class.

To Ms Gardiner, who taught us how to write in cursive and sparked my love for reading. I still remember reading ‘bubble and squeak’ and watching ‘ Through the dragons eye’- my favourite part of the school day!

To Mrs West, who was my first french teacher, and made learning a language fun. Who took no nonsense from the unruly boys. It still makes me laugh when I think of the way you used to make the naughty kids stand and the front of the class and hold your hand, as you told them ‘if you are going to act like a baby then you will be treated like a baby’!

To Mr Blair, who terrified and inspired all at the same time. Who made us tend to the school gardens and taught us about the environment. Who kept remnants of bird wings in the classroom to use as a biology lesson aid which completely freaked all of us out. Who pushed all of us to learn as much as we could in preparation for the giant leap onto secondary school.

The best bits of primary school:
Dressing up for the school fete
Getting creative stories into the Enniskillen County Show, and winning
Assembly
The Christmas carol service at the local Nursing Home
The dome shaped climbing frame
Cycling proficiency
School trip to Magilligan
Annual trip to the panto
Swimming lessons on Thursday afternoons
Fishing tadpoles out of a nearby pond and watching them grow

Fact Finding (Irish version of show and tell)
and above all…
Chocolate Cracknel and chocolate hot custard!!! hmmmmm

Hi everyone.

Distress inks and Heroarts stamps – A match made in heaven, a delightful combination.

I got some new colours of distress inks a week or two ago and I knew that I wanted to play with them and show them off to you all, so I threw together a few cards using my heroarts stamps. Man, was it fun, and I loved the results!!

Check ‘em out.
