Hello everyone,

I know its been a little while, sorry about that. Work + 3 year old = one tired mumma – not to mention that i have been suffering from a slipped disc for the last four months, which has severely limited my crafty mojo.

But heres the good news, i have had some spinal surgery and feel brilliant now! – obviously i am in recovery mode, but it does also mean that i have been more motivated to craft, and have some projects to share. We also had a little incident with the lights in the craft room which now has been resolved thanks to our good friends Mark and Helen who installed some new ones for me. And to mark the joyous occasion of me being back on my feet, standing and crafting in a well lit craft room, i wanted this card to be the first one i share – a Christmas card for Mark and Heli.

This is also the first card i have made with my new purchase – the Joy to the Woods stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I also bought the dies, and i am LOVING these little dudes. I think i want to buy matching dies for every stamp set from now on (but I’m not sure my bank balance would exactly reach to that!).

I also cracked out the video camera to share this card in a little video!

You can watch it here, or over on YouTube, and please give the video a Thumbs Up if you enjoy it, and hit subscribe for more videos – i hope to get back into the swing of recording videos for sharing.

have a great weekend,

warm wishes chip CU1 HHC

Enjoy Your Day Little Birdies

This card is sweet and simple, and full of feathery fun.

There must be a family of blackbirds in our garden. On Saturday, we let Miya out into the garden, and about 2 minutes later all we could hear is the incessant chatter of an angry bird….constantly! We brought Miya inside, and it stopped. A little while later, we let Miya out again – and, yip, you guessed it, the bird went crazy again. It sounds like a high pitched car alarm, and the sound carries the whole way through he house.

Poor Miya hasn’t got outside since. But at least the birdies are safe, and Mummy & Daddy bird aren’t having nervous breakdowns.

But i am warning you now, mister blackbird, if you wake us up at 5.30am again I will not hesitate to let Mizu outside with her hunting gear!

Have a tweet day everyone!

These are so quick and easy to make, and are perfect gifts, especially for teachers or friends. Check out Jennifer MaGuire’s video here which walks you through how to make one of these cool Bookmark Cards.

For mine, i’ve used Raindrops stamp from heroarts, and a heart swirl stamp, also heroarts. The bird is a stamp from the Unity Stamps June Kit of the Month. I’m not sure where the little ‘be you’ stamp comes from, its been lurking in my stash for a little while now. Doesn’t it look mega cute!?

Have a great day

MYM – Simply ‘hi’

by Lesley Oman on 24 May, 2010

I’m back, as promised, to share today’s Miss You Monday card. Today is a simple, generic card, perfect for almost any occasion, as it simply says ‘hi’. Sometimes you don’t need to say much more than that!

This card is inspired by the way that in the good ol’ days, when every little boy and girl wanted a paper round as their first job! The papers would come folded with a a little piece of paper wrapped around it to hold it secure.

The card is simply scored twice to create a trifold base, but to add a little bit of interest I cut away the right edge into curves so you can see the coloured insert peeping through! The sleeve of the card is the fun bit, because it can be decorated in anyway you want. I used some Heidi Swapp chipboard flower shapes, some buttons and string, along with a few stickers from my box of tricks, and for a little bit of pizzazz, I stamped a flourish into the inside using a heroarts stamp and distress ink. Above all I love the glittery card from the DCWV glitter stack, which is bright, colourful and summery.

Thanks for stopping by, Leave me a comment here.

Don’t forget that I have a treat for you this week, as every day i will be sharing thank you cards for all those amazing teachers out there! See you then.
