Christmas is here!!!
Finally we enter December and I am officially permitted to sing Christmas songs, write Christmas cards and say Merry Christmas to everyone i meet! And guess what…wE HaVE SnOW!! yeay!! Although I am under strict instructions that Pregnant ladies are NOT allowed to have fun in the snow, so I just have to enjoy the snow by looking longingly through a window. Anyway, we are FAR too busy to worry about the snow. The final countdown has begun as we should be moving into our new house next week. Of course, this means that my life has been filled with the dreaded boxes! Just look at my poor craft room….
But never fear, I have a project to share today: some fun Christmas cards to share with you. Well, really they are more like gift cards, because they are dinky and small. I’ve made a set of 8, because I had a selection of stamps that would work well with the design and plus you always need gift cards don’t ya!
The cards themselves I made using my scalloped rectangle nestabilities, by folding a piece of card, then laying the fold just within the die so some of the fold remained in tact. It’s not as noticable because I have covered the front with patterned paper which overhangs the folded edge a fraction to complete the scalloped edge. So theres a little tip on how to make your own scalloped edge folded cards. 🙂
For the papers I actually used the Lil’ Man collection from Cosmo Cricket, and although these aren’t Christmas themed, I thought they worked really well as they kinda have a festive colour theme.
After stamping and colouring the festive images, I decided that I wanted to make the topper into little baubles, so I used some silver cord from meiflower and punched a flower from silver paper using a punch. I cut the flower in half and folded it to make a triangular shape to ressemble the silver fixture on a bauble. I love the finished look!
Here’s some more photos for you to enjoy!
