Have A Mice Day ! Distress Ink + watercolouring + die cutting {video}

Hello everyone! And Happy Weekend!

I just love furry friends! I guess you might already know that because a lot of my cards feature furry critters! 🙂 What you might not know is that we cannot have fur-babies in our house because my daughter suffers from eczema and has a super bad allergies. We had to unfortunately re-home our kitty about 2 years ago, and re-carpet the whole house to try to minimize the left over dander. So, no furry pets for us!

I did hope that I might be able to have some craft rats…some ratty friends that lived in the craft room, but the temperature fluctuates too much in there, so i don’t think it would work out for the little guys. I shall have to stick to stamped critters!

And, these little guys, from the Mama Elephant Lunar Animals set are A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!

I made the background using some distress ink, on some cheap watercolour paper. I actually bought the paper for water colouring, but i really didn’t like the texture when painting with a brush, so figured i would just use it up on my cards! 🙂

I coloured the images using some watercolour paints – it only takes a few minutes because they are so small…but OH SO CUTE!! <3

On the grey mouse, i used a craft knife to trip around his hands so he could be holding on to the edge of his cheese!

The greeting was a little bit of a challenge. The word ‘birthday’ is from the big scripty words stamp set from Lawn Fawn – a new arrival in my stash! 🙂 I am loving the size of these stamps – so perfect!
For the rest of the greeting, I had to use images from two different lawn fawn stamp set to mix-and-match the letters and get the greeting i wanted!

Thanks of joining me, and be sure to give me a thumbs up on the video if you enjoy it! Feel free to subscribe for more crafty goodness!

Have a great day

Lesley
