Good morning everyone!
I am over on the Honey Bee Stamps Blog today I am sharing a card with a fun acetate front that showcases the Zen Floral stamp set and the Fabulous honey cuts die!
For today’s card, I started by playing with the awesome flowerhead stamps and paired these up with the tall stem stamp, and I stamped them in a line so it almost looks like a little garden. You can create lots of different styles from this one set because the stems and flower heads are separate images – I love how this gives lots of versatility!
I coloured them using some copic markers and kept to a warm colour palate of reds, yellows and oranges! I think I was feeling particularly summery that day! 🙂
Originally I had the idea to put this stamped panel on the front of the card, but then had a mental image of looking through a window, out to a garden of flowers, so I thought it would be super fun to create a card with an acetate front panel.
To add some interest to the front, I stamped the long border image from the Zen Florals set to some strips of cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next I scribbled over the top of the image with some gelatos, and using a damp paint brush I blended the colours together.
I love that it almost looks like a pattern paper – the stamp is so big, its perfect for achieving these kind of results! Next up I stuck the stamped flowers on the inside of the card, and decided to tie everything together with some red mirror card.
I cut thin strips to add a border to both the inside panel, and the gelato coloured strips on the front, and then I ran the Fabulous die through my Cuttlebug with the same mirror card! It cut so beautifully, and it is hard to get the full effect in the photo! It is so pretty! I even managed to find a stamp from the Beautiful Life set to coordinate with the die cut word, and I was thrilled that it fit perfectly between my stamped flowers! It must have been fate!
Thanks for joining me 🙂
Have a great day, and happy crafting!
