Hello everyone and happy Monday!
Last week our 6 year old daughter was trying to convince hubby and I that we really should her a baby brother or sister! LOL I blame last weeks movie session – Storks! She was pulling out all the stops in order to try to convince us. Knowing that my favourite time of year is Autumn, she was suggesting the names – Autumn, Leaf and in the end she decided that Conker would be the best name for her new imaginary sibling. Oh geez, that girl!
So I guess this card was inspired by this silly conversation, where I have combined the Welcome Baby stamp set with the Country Wreath stamps and dies! Let me walk you through it!
I started with an A2 die cut panel which I then ran through my Big Shot using the circular wreath die, then I added a woodgrain embossing effect to the outer section with an embossing folder. I then stamped the twig design onto the circular die cut using a light brown ink. I also used the same honeycuts die to cut a circle from gold glitter paper so I could layer one on top of the other.
First I stamped the cute bambino from the Welcome Baby stamp set and die cut this using the companion honeycuts dies. Next I stamped & die cut a bunch of floral and leaf designs from the awesome Country Wreath stamp set, and then used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours to add some loose colouring to the images. I decided to leave some uncoloured to add some interest to the design.
I had fun layering all the floral images, and the Autumn Sunset sequin mix were perfect additions to this card, so I added these with some Ranger multi matt medium.
To finish the card, I heat embossed the word Welcome from the Welcome Baby set and die cut it with its coordinating die.
I love how this card turned out…. now I am off to see if Piper will settle for a baby on a card instead of a real life baby sibling! Wish me luck! 🙂
