A Light Up Lawn Fawn Nessie Card – AND A Chibitronics GIVEAWAY!

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!! YAAAAY!

That’s right, its giveaway time!

I am so excited to say that Hungry Heffy Crafts are joining forces with the amazing Chibitronics again, to bring you another fun card making video, and a giveaway!

The wonderful gang over at Chibitronics create fun LED Circuit Stickers which make it possible to combine arts and craft with technology! Here are a few of my previous projects using the fun lights!

Light Up Fox Shaker Card I Lava You – Light Up Volcano Valentine’s Card

Little Pick Up – Multicoloured LED Light Up Truck

Check out the full details on how you can enter this fabulous giveaway at the bottom of this post!

but first, let’s take a look at today’s card! The full video tutorial is at the top of this post, and can also be found on YouTube.

This card features the fun little Loch Ness Monster image from the Lawn Fawn Loveable Legends stamp set, and I have paired this up with some Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant dies.

You will see from the video, that when making cards with Chibitronics, I like to build it in two layers – the circuit layer, and the design layer. I find this the easiest way to get the results I want.

In this card, I knew I wanted two lights – one white LED for the stars – and the Lawn Fawn snowy backdrop die was great for creating a night sky. I then used a yellow LED to create the glow of a full moon.

I kept the scene quite simple – using the stitched mountain border dies and stitched hillside border dies to create a landscape – with Loch Ness in the foreground! I used distress inks to add colour to my die cuts, and added a layer of blue vellum to the very front.

To make sure the yellow and white lights didn’t ‘pollute’ each others area, I used foam tape to separate these areas – you can see exactly what I mean in the video!  I also added black cardstock behind the night sky – this was because I only wanted the lights to shine through the little holes and not shine through the actual cardstock.

Here’s what it looks like when the lights are off! I think it is such fun! I like that the card looks clean and simple, but has some hidden pizzazz! I hope you like it too!

Now…

Thanks to our friends at Chibitronics, you too will have the chance to WIN A CHIBITRONICS STARTER KIT – this gives you everything you need to get started with building your own paper circuits, and making fun light up projects!

Here’s what you can do to enter! You can do any of the below, or a combination – multiple entries are allowed, and international applicants are welcome! (Although, please note that sometimes the post office can be funny about shipping batteries, so these may be removed from the kit, depending on the country postage rules) <3
