Hello my sweet crafty friends!
It’s me – Lesley, and I am playing with paste today! YAY! Everyone loves messy play – right?!
This card is all about the texture! I love it! I used the Middle plate from the Hexagon Coverplate die collection to die cut some scratch cardstock. I love the little hexagons that it cuts out, and I wanted to use the cardstock as a temporary stencil!
I reached for my Aladine Texture paste which I have in the mimosa colour – a bright, vibrant yellow which was perfect for my card today! Working on a craft mat, I secured my card and stencil to the mat with washi tape, then used a palette knife to smooth the texture paste over the die cut cardstock. I gently peeled back the stencil and sprinkled some gold Glamour Dust glitter over the top. The texture paste takes about 30 minutes to dry, so in the meantime I grabbed some other supplies for my card.
The sweet flower is from the Busy Bees stamp set, and I love the simplistic yet whimsical style of this set. I added some quick colour with my copic markers, and then added a sprinkling of gold glitter to the centre after cutting it out with the busy bee dies.
I then reached for the Hello Honeycuts word die, and ran this through my bigshot using white cardstock. Before separating the diecut piece from the surrounding cardstock, I added a touch of Squeezed Lemonade distress ink to the bottom section to create a soft ombre effect. Then i cut it again using black cardstock and layered one on top of the other to create a shadow effect.
My card needed a little extra, so I white heat embossed the ‘My Sweet’ greeting from the Hello Gorgeous Stamp set, onto black cardstock. I then cut it into a little fishtail banner, and used this to ground the hello die cut, before adding a few enamel accents to the front of the card.
Thanks for stopping by today,
Have a great week!
Happy Crafting
Lesley
