Honey Bee Stamps

Hello and happy Monday everyone!

This week I decided it was time to pack away the summer clothes and dig out the good old winter warmers- as it has really started to get chilly here in the UK. I love this time of year – Autumn is most definitely my favourite! I especially love going for a walk through the forest when the leaves are changing colour.

So it isn’t any wonder that I am feeling autumnal when getting crafty – and so I am sharing a card on the Honey Bee Stamps blog today which features an Autumnal Wreath mixed with a mustard yellow type writer, and with a woodgrain background!

This card was also inspired by a card created by a customer. I spied it on Instagram, and I loved the colour palate so much i couldn’t wait to use that mustard yellow colour on a card of my own!

The sweet type writer image is the Honey Bee Stamps Just My Type stamp, and I added a greeting to the paper section of the image using the word ‘amazing’ from the Sentiment Builder set, and ‘you are’ from Beautiful life! I just love the way it is so easy to mix and match these Honey Bee Stamps!

For the wreath, of course i used the spectacular Country Wreath set. I picked three of the leaf designs and first die cut the pieces with the coordinating dies. Then, using my Misti, i stamped the images on top of each die cut. Be sure to watch the video as I share an easy, fool-proof way to get great impressions every time – it makes cards like this much faster to make!

I knew that i wanted to use kraft cardstock as a base, but to add more interest I cut a panel of kraft cardstock slightly smaller than the card front and embossed it with a woodgrain effect, using an embossing folder. I used some brown distress ink to add a little colour to the raised sections, and then layered a piece of vellum on top to soften the look. I wanted to add interest, but not take distract from the beautiful wreath and type writer image on top!

Thanks for stopping by, and here is the video for you guys to watch!

see you next time

Hey guys, I am over on the Honey Bee Stamps blog today, showcasing a card made using the age-old technique of Straw Painting! Well, technically I was using ink instead of paint, but it still gives fab results!

I have used the confetti greeting from the Beautiful Life stamp set, along with the All Prettied Up dies from mama elephant.

For the inside I thought it would be fun to give the recipient some extra confetti, so I added a little treat to the inside of the card!

There are more photos and instructions over on the blog post on the Honey Bee Stamps site, so be sure to check it out to see more of this project.

have a great week my crafty friends!

HELLO and welcome to another HungryHeffyCrafts project – and today I have a card with cute kitties and lots of texture!

Last week I shared a card using the Page Huggers stamps from Mama Elephant, and well, I am STILL very much in love with them! They totally rock my world! I decided to use the cute kitty stamp to create a congratulatory wedding card for my colleague Arwen, who incidently is the owner of an equally cute kitty, Bruno!

It’s funny how the same stamp can look completely different when coloured in a different way – a little copic marker magic sure does go a long way!

I used the Lawn Fawn small stitched rectangle dies as well as the Mama Elephant All prettied Up die to create the main part of the card, and then used some Spellbinders oval dies to create a dimensional aperture. I love how this frames our happy couple! The congrats stamp from the Lawn Fawn Big Scripty Words set was the perfect sentiment for this card!

I wanted the colour scheme to be understated, so kept to a light grey fog colour, but used texture to create more interest on the card. I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil with some white embossing paste to add the hearts, some tulle to create a cute veil for the blushing bride, and some Honey Bee Stamps diamonds for a touch of sparkle!

Why not watch the video tutorial so you can see exactly how I made the card!?
