Honey Bee Stamps

Hey guys and gals!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day! I am over on the Honey Bee Stamps Blog today with this cute bear card featuring the bear from Flakey Friends, the Country Wreath set and Special Delivery.

This card focuses on two main techniques – firstly, embossing <3, and secondly, a little creative thinking when it comes to stretching your stamps – here’s a clue -the ribbon image behind the bear is actually a flag stamp from the  Honey Bee Stamps Special Delivery set. There are loads more details, as well as more photos, over on the  Honey Bee Stamps blog. Why not come and take a look!

Thanks for stopping by, have a crafty day!

Oh, and I should also tell you that the GIVEAWAY is still open. See the post below for more details!

Hey crafty friends,

Its been a busy week for us bees over at Honey Bee Stamps, as we celebrate the new release! We’ve been having a blast playing with the new products, but I wanted to share a project that I made this week using one of the older set, which is actually on special offer this month – Not Too Shabby!

I was listening to the radio one day and that song ‘jar of hearts’ came on, and I was suddenly inspired to create a card using the mason jar from the Not Too Shabby set. I thought it would be fun to combine the hearts with some Chibitronic LEDs so they light up when the button is pressed!

I created the background with some dye inks and a mask cut using my silhouette, then used a circle die with the mama elephant all prettied up die to create a focal panel.

I added some ink to the frame and sprayed with some water and perfect pearls to give a shimmer distressed look. Then i stamped the jar, hearts and cute birdies, and coloured them in with copic markers.

Next I carefully cut inside the hearts with a craft knife, so when i built the paper circuit underneath, the  light would only shine out of these holes. Here’s what it looks like when its all lit up! Sweet huh?

I added a strip of card with the ‘full of love’ greeting in the middle, and mounted this unto some coordinating pattern paper, and when I made the LED circuit, I made sure the battery was directly behind the stamped message!

I admit, perhaps this is one of those cards where its not exactly obvious that there is an interactive element, so I would probably need to write a note inside the card to let the recipient know that they can press the greeting- but i think that makes the card even more fun! Who wouldn’t love a surprise like that?

Thanks for stopping by! And don’t forget to snap up this awesome Not Too Shabby set over on the #HoneyBeeStamps shop whilst it is on offer this August!

also,  you are still able to join in the Honey Bee Stamps Blog Hop for a chance to win some sweet prizes in celebration of the new release! Start the Hop by clicking HERE, and have fun! Winners will be picked tomorrow, Sunday 28th August.

ciao!

Hey every one,

Honey Bee Stamps is the sponsor over at the Tuesday Throwdown blog this week, with the challenge being ‘make it sparkle!’

Feel free to visit the Tuesday Throwdown blog to be inspired and for a chance to win!

This is the card that I made from the ‘make it sparkle’ prompt!

I used some dye inks to create a blended background of yellows and pinks, and ran this through the cuttlebug with a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die, and a mama elephant All prettied Up scalloped circle die.

I stamped a flower and some leaves from the new Zen Floral #honeybeestamps stamp set! This stamp set has only been announced – check out the Honey Bee Stamps Instagram to see the whole set, and please join us over on Facebook for the New Release Launch Party this week 22nd-26th August!

For inside the shaker bit, i stamped some hearts in coordinating colours, and then stamped the shadow heart stamp over the top, embossed with gold glitter embossing powder. Both hearts are from the Beautiful Life stamp set!

I also stamped some words from the Sentiment Builder stamp set on the inside, embossed with regular gold embossing powder this time.

Most of the sparkle really comes from the die cut ‘wonderful‘ which is a Honeycuts die from Honey Bee Stamps. I layers up a few die cuts, and then spread glue on top and used some Gold Glamour dust fine glitter on top. I promise you, the shimmer is soooo much better in real life! is gorgeous!
To balance the card, and add a little more glamour, I stuck down three lines of double sided sticky tape along the bottom section of the card – and once again went mad with the glitter! 🙂

have a sweet day, my crafty friends!!
