Hello crafty friends,

I have a video today on how I made an Easter card with four different shaker panels. This card was inspired by an oval die that was in the MFT Tree-mendous die set – i thought it looked like an Easter egg!  Take a look!

I do love an interactive card, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create something bright, colourful and full of Heffy Doodle goodness!  These Honey Bunny Boo stamp sets have been a big hit so far, and they are perfect for Easter cards when combined with the Easter Heffy Cuts die.

Scroll on down to watch the video, and please feel free to leave me a comment.

thanks for hopping by. Happy Crafting!

Hey guys,
I knew that i wouldn’t be able to do a YouTube live this Friday as it’s Piper’s birthday, so figured I would do one tonight…..turns out my computer had a different idea. When I turned it on, it automatically started an update, and then crashed right in the middle of it.

Well…. I couldn’t go back on my word, so instead of a YouTube live, Craig and I quickly set up the phone so we can do an Instagram LIVE. So it would be much lower picture and sound quality, but at least it was something. The real bummer is that once its gone, its pretty much gone. Sorry for those who didn’t catch it Live, i know lots of you like to watch the videos on replay.

Anyway, here’s my card. I wanted to play with watercolours, and i wanted a soft rainbow feel. I reached for my dragon stamps from MFT. Cuteness!

These cuties live up in the sky, so they are sitting amidst a floor of fluffy clouds. I embossed one panel with a swiss dots embossing folder to add some texture. I wanted to keep the colours soft, so the loose watercolour technique worked well. It does mean that some of the colour bled outside the lines, but i still think its cute.

I added a palace on a cloud from the Mama Elephant Unicorns and Rainbows set, i thought it worked well with my scene.

This card is for Piper’s best friend Sophia who turns 7 next week. Piper thinks she is going to LOVE it!

To finish up, I embossed the greeting with liquid platinum embossing powder from ranger and added some nuvo jewl drops. Turns out that i don’t have any green or blues…. tut tut! I think I may have to fix that! 🙂

Thanks for taking a look, and i hope to have the computer back to life for this Friday’s Come Craft With Me LIVE session. Keep an eye on Instagram, if there are any changes I will give a shout out.

see you then, until next time HAPPY CRAFTING

Hello everyone,

It’s Mothers’ Day in the UK today – so a massive Mums Day shout out to everyone celebrating today! You all rock! I was awoken to a treasure hunt of gifts and a beautiful handmade card from little Piper.

I have a video today showing how I made two Mothers’ Day cards – one for my Mummsy and one for my mother-in-law. In both, I used a stamped image in the place of a letter – I love that this is so fun!

Both cards have a similar inked background, and i used stencils to create some interest. The stars are from Winnie & Walter and the hearts are from Simon Says Stamp. I also introduced a bit of glitter on both.

For this one, I used holographic embossing powder on the sentiment (which is from reverse confetti), and on the second card I covered the bear’s heart with glossy accents and showered it with ultra fine glitter. Ohhh such sparkle!

As for the colours, I am trying to fall back in love with yellows and oranges, so i thought i would mix that with some pink. I used Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold & Squeezed Lemonade distress inks, and in order to make the colours match nicely, I also used the same ink to colour the letters.

I love the way we can make cards which are more personal….like for example having a card that says mummsy on it! teehee!

Here’s the video – enjoy, and Happy Mums Day you guys!
