Card Making

Hello Everyone!

I am over on the Honey Bee Stamps Blog today, showcasing another card made using the Special Delivery Stamp set. Β This time, I got inky with the ink smooshing technique, using distress inks to create an ombre effect in the background. I mixed this up with some embossing resist and die cutting for a fun card!

Hop on over to the Honey Bee Stamps blog to find out more details on how I made the card!

Have a happy day!

Hey everyone,

I have another Honey Bee Stamps card to share today, and SURPRISE …bonus video week! i don’t normally do more than one video in a week, but I had some extra time so I decided to treat you all!

I’m sure you will know that i love to mix and match my stamps. I find it really fun! But i also really enjoy looking at my stamps, and coming up with new and interesting ways to use them. Often I can be caught inspecting my stamp sets, and rotating them round and round, squinting that them, and before too long… EUREKA… inspiration strikes!

I had one of these Eureka moments when I got my Special Delivery Stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps. This set has a mix of sentiments and images, and one image was a paperclip. I had the idea to use the paperclip as petals for a flower!

This was a go-with-the-flow kinda card, and I used a piece of patterned paper from my stash, and then the rest of the card design I had to fit around that. It was fun!

I reached for my overflowing and now-hardly-ever-used stash of bakers twine to add a little tactile fun to the card. πŸ™‚ To add a finishing touch, I die cut a tag and embossed the ‘with love’ greeting which is also from the Special Delivery stamp set.

have a great week, but let me leave you with the video tutorial where you will see how i made this card in a bit more detail.

have a crafty day!

Hellllllllllo Hello!

Its sunday! and that means its time for another Hungry Heffy Crafts video, and today I am sharing a peekaboo card.

I’m not actually sure if that is a real term, i kinda made it up πŸ™‚ , but i think it works!

I’ve used some landscape dies to cut a section out of card, which creates a fun wave aperture. I thought it would be funny to create a seaside themed card to coordinate with this wave section on the card, so i pulled out some of my trusty Lawn Fawn stamps.

I have used the Year 6 ‘Shellfish’ stamp set, along with the ‘Mermaid for you’ and ‘critters of the sea’ stamps sets. The stamped images have been coloured using copics and the background made using some distress ink.

To create a focal point for the card, I added a little die cut tag on top, and built an underwater scene featuring the little oyster clam shell image. It sure is a cute one!

I love the stark white against the vibrant colours. It makes my heart sing! fa-la-la-la-la!!

As always, you will find more details in the video tutorial…check it out!

πŸ™‚

Have a happy weekend!
Lesley
