Ink Smooching Mermaid (video)

Hello team craft-a-lot!

i’m not sure if you have noticed, but i’m trying real hard to make more edited videos. To be honest, ever since changing away from my macbook its been a real struggle. It just takes so long to edit. But i *think* i’m getting in the swing of things….. please say i haven’t jinxed myself! LOL

In today’s video I am making an ink smooched background with my distress inks and oxides. I’m using the Mermaid for you stamp set from Lawn Fawn along with some images from the Life is Good set. I love how they coordinate together.

I am also creating a two-tones sentiment which brings in the yellow and peach colours that i have in my scene. The MISTI tool makes this super duper easy! I love it! I also added a sweet ‘with love’ sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tag Sayings set.

For the water background i used my distress inks and for the sea bed i used the oxide. I love that there is a more chalky finish with the oxides- i think it kinda makes it look more ‘sandy’. 🙂

This girl really needed some sparkle, so i covered her tailfin with stickles. Just look at that shine! ohhh pretty!

I totally got a smudge on my card… but never fear, nothing that can’t be easily covered by a little sequin or too! teehee!

Here’s the full video. Please watch and i hope you enjoy it. Feel free to leave me a little comment to encourage me to make more edited videos if that what you would like to see. I guess my live streams have made me a little lazy!

Happy Crafting!

Hello crafty friends,

I have a video today on how I made an Easter card with four different shaker panels. This card was inspired by an oval die that was in the MFT Tree-mendous die set – i thought it looked like an Easter egg!  Take a look!

I do love an interactive card, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create something bright, colourful and full of Heffy Doodle goodness!  These Honey Bunny Boo stamp sets have been a big hit so far, and they are perfect for Easter cards when combined with the Easter Heffy Cuts die.

Scroll on down to watch the video, and please feel free to leave me a comment.

thanks for hopping by. Happy Crafting!

Hello everyone,

It’s Mothers’ Day in the UK today – so a massive Mums Day shout out to everyone celebrating today! You all rock! I was awoken to a treasure hunt of gifts and a beautiful handmade card from little Piper.

I have a video today showing how I made two Mothers’ Day cards – one for my Mummsy and one for my mother-in-law. In both, I used a stamped image in the place of a letter – I love that this is so fun!

Both cards have a similar inked background, and i used stencils to create some interest. The stars are from Winnie & Walter and the hearts are from Simon Says Stamp. I also introduced a bit of glitter on both.

For this one, I used holographic embossing powder on the sentiment (which is from reverse confetti), and on the second card I covered the bear’s heart with glossy accents and showered it with ultra fine glitter. Ohhh such sparkle!

As for the colours, I am trying to fall back in love with yellows and oranges, so i thought i would mix that with some pink. I used Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold & Squeezed Lemonade distress inks, and in order to make the colours match nicely, I also used the same ink to colour the letters.

I love the way we can make cards which are more personal….like for example having a card that says mummsy on it! teehee!

Here’s the video – enjoy, and Happy Mums Day you guys!
