I had the pleasure of meeting the amazing Shay at Creativation this year, and not only does she make fabulous, high quality products, but she is also a kind, loving person that I definitely look up to.

So i was excited to get my hands on some W&W and show you guys how to pair them with chibitronics. For me, I really wanted some more stencils  – and this one, the Classic Diagonal had been on my wishlist for ages!

But I couldn’t NOT use stamps, eh!? 🙂 I wanted to make a project that was colourful, bright and illuminating, so i paired the stencil with the Wishing You stamp set.

I use a little masking tape to create a border around my stars which makes them really pop, and this was the first time i actually embossed using my distress oxides. LOVE IT SO!

Let’s look at the card when the magic button is pressed!

Hooray! I always love seeing the cards light up! If you would like to see the tutorial, check out the video below!

Next up on the hop is Maya

Hello everyone,

It’s a special day today, because us Chibitronics gang are teaming up with the amazingly talented individuals over at MFT Stamps for a super awesome COLLABORATION!

Over the course of today and tomorrow (15th & 16th Feb), please head over to the chibitronics and MFT stamps blogs to start the hop and see all the inspiration.

If you hop along, please remember to leave a like and a comment – and then you can be in with a chance to win a Chibitronics starter kit or a $50 voucher to the MFT stamps store! What are you waiting for!?

So let’s talk about my project. If you are familiar with my work, you will probably know that I louuuurve an interactive card. BUT sometimes I get these crazy ideas in my head and I want to push it to the LIMIT! I get totally overexcited, and I have a mindset of ‘MAKE IT WORK!’.

A few months ago, I made a slider pop up card, and I thought it would be awesome if I could find a way to incorporate the slider element into a Chibitronics circuit. And this was the perfect occasion to try.

Scroll down to watch the video tutorial on how I made this card, which features the Blueprint sketch 28 dies, Otterly love you stamps and the Bitty Bears stamps, all from MFT stamps. I also used a small ‘Pull Here’ stamp from Heffy Doodle Stamps’ Interactively Yours stamp set.

At first glance, this card looks clean and simple – what a cute little otter, huh? The background I made using Distress Oxide inks and I spritzed a stencil with some water (with a little perfect pearls powder mixed in), then laid my inked background on top. This results in this beautiful transference of the stencil design. At the top, can you see the little ‘pull here’ sentiment?

When you slide up the card, it reveals BIG SURPRISES! Not only do you see the ‘You have my heart’ sentiment on the pull tab (from the Bitty Bears stamp set), and of course you get to see the ‘I’m otterly in love with you’ sentiment on the revealed section…. but the little otter has popped up AND the heart in his hands is GLOWING PINK!

Like I said, the circuit is indeed one of the more advanced circuits – but it just goes to prove that there are lots of possibilities with these fun little light stickers. Don’t let it scare you though, there’s loads of amazing projects using a simple circuit. Search my blog for Chibitronics to find more if you want to take a look.

Here’s a little peak from the side. I am in love with this guy. My daughter Piper (6yo) has been playing with him all day!

Don’t forget to watch the video to see how it was made, and to be in with chances to win a prize, leave a comment below.

Here are the links that take you to the other blogs in this hop for today. There are more fantastic projects on the line up for tomorrow, 16th Feb.

It’s Christmas! And for the last few years at Hungry Heffy Crafts, we have had a Christmas special video with our daughter Piper. Between nativities, and school fairs and stamp designing and all sorts… we simply didn’t get a chance to do one this year. So when Piper asked if she could make a card with me, and she seemed excited about doing a LIVE craft stream – I thought we would jump on it!

A huge thanks to everyone who joined the live stream and showed their encouragement with little Piper. She was in top form, and seemed to know exactly what she wanted to make – a light up chibitronics card!

Please do watch the playback, enjoy her childish ramblings and her witness her creativity flourish. Here’s a look at what she made.

She wanted to use coloured pencils and boy did she get excited about fussy cutting. She used some Lawn Fawn winter fairy images, and some pretty pink posh reindeer. I think she did a fab job at colouring them in.

I helped die cut some panels for the background, at Piper’s instructions of course, and I helped plan out the chibitronics circuit so that we could get the windows to light up. She seemed pretty sure on what she wanted it to do!

See the roof – apparently that is a chocolate chip icecream effect and the doorstep is a toadstool effect. Bless her! She is a funny chicken! When you press the door, the windows light up! Here’s a look.

I am so proud of my girl. She did a great job, and she was so good on the stream. Thanks again for watching and for your lovely comments. She beams with pride and excitement when i read them out to her.

I will leave you there – have a very Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you and your family have a very happy holiday!

From, Lesley, Craig and lil’ Crafter Extraordinaire Piper!
