Hey everyone. August seems to be flying by fast, and it will soon be my birthday again! So, I thought I would share with you a layout which i made a couple of months ago but haven’t had a chance to show you yet.

i’ve been cooped up this week, hiding beneath a duvet surrounded by a tissue graveyard. This is the worst cold have had in ages, and thus, i’ve not been in my craft room – so all the more reason to dig out an already made but not yet seen layout to share.

The large flower is actually the head of a bunch of artificial flowers which I believe originally came from the PoundShop. I loved the large size, and the many petals, and wore it in my hair a few times before it found a home on this page. Who says embellishments have to be expensive!? For the main part of the page, I drew around a JBS journaling scrapbook page to get the cute label shape, and I wanted a colourful yet sharp contrasted look, so chose a palate of blacks, pinks and greens.

Used
Glitz designs – papers and rub ons (aren’t those birdies cute?)
Bisous chipboard
Flowers – poundshop, docrafts
brad – trimcraft
chipboard letters – American Crafts & Heidi Swapp
DCWV adhesive cardstock
paper punch
eyelets
crop-a-dile
Glossy accents
Scalloped edge border strips

thanks for stopping by and hopefully i’ll be feeling better soon so i can get crafty.

Hey there everyone,

Another layout to share today.

This time i got my fingers messy as I played with some Cosmic Shimmers sprays! FUN FUN FUN!

I thought it was about time I scrapped about our first car. Most people probably dream about getting their first car when they are about 16 -17 years old, but no, not me. I never actually got off my butt to even start to learn to drive until this year! Whoops, i’m ten years behind the game! Meh, i don’t care!

Even though I was 27, not 17, it was still just as exciting when we went to go car shopping! I was like a big kid, almost hyperventilating at the fact that we were going to bring home our first car. Eeeek!!

No more walking into town in the thundering rain!
No more bored days at home.
No more going into Guildford because it was something to do – now we can go anywhere we want. See new places, have new adventures, picnics, forest walks, drive to the airport!!! AwESoMe!!

And so we picked one. A little Renault Clio. And I love it! I’m sure it will get plenty of scrapes and bumps and bruises, but it’ll always be our first car!

So this layout isn’t one of my clean and simple layouts, but is a bit more carefree. I just had fun when I was making it!

Journaling reads:
It was so exciting going & looking at cars. We picked out a few that ticked the boxes & began to narrow down the choices. Can you believe the best one was teal – my favourite colour!! When we saw the number plate, it sealed the deal. A little Scottish Clio – the perfect choice! Proud as punch, I insisted that you took a photo of this momentous day – of me and our new car!

Hey everyone! It’s Miss You Monday time! And great news, I had a message from Sarah this week, and the end is in sight so we are all very excited that baby will be here soon ( she is due early September). Although Sarah is still very ill, her spirits seem to have picked up a little, which is great! Yeay!

I had lots of fun with this card – can’t you tell?

This quirky little card takes a little bit of mathematics to start with, but once the measurements bit has been done, and the creases are in place, its simply a case of decorating the panels. Apparently, this is called a Side Step card (I don’t know who comes up with these names!?)

I always loved this scooter stamp, but hadn’t gotten round to using it on a card yet. so I thought i’d give it a whirl. One thing I particularly love is that the pieces are really easy to cut out, so as I stamped the image on different paper, it was really easy peasy to cut out the different panels and re-assemble. I am loving the finished design.

The papers are from the ‘Quite Contrary’ line from My Minds Eye’. A 6×6 stack came free with a card making magazine, and knowing the fantastic quality of MME products and the fact that i’ve always been drawn to their designs, it was a no-brainer when I saw the magazine. I can’t wait to use some more of the pages to make a little mini book or two.

Lets talk chipboard! I’ve used two chipboard pieces, (from The Paper Mill shop I believe) one of which i have covered with pink pearlescent embossing powder, and the other I sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer spray. This gives one a pearl glassy sheen, and the other a flatter, pearlescent look. The brad in the middle is a fabric brad from Trimcraft, I believe its the Laura Ashley range.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great Monday!
