Product Reviews

Hello there crafty peeps

It was my niece’s birthday earlier a few weeks back and I wanted to share the card that i made for her. I was really excited to make this card because i got to play with some new products. 🙂

First of all, i {heart} this background stamp. Isn’t it fab?! It is an unmounted etched rubber stamp from Creative expressions, so i mounted it onto some EZ mount kling so i could use it on my acrylic block. I think i’ll be using this stamp a lot, especially for Mens cards.

I also picked up this cute Gorjuss stamp called ‘Little Foxes’ when I was in Scotland. I have had my eye on it for a while because I love using stamps that you can colour in and build up on your projects, and the Gorjuss girls are so cute and easy to use. The problem I had was chosing which one i would buy, they have so many really sweet ones – but as soon as i saw the foxy one the others didn’t stand a chance. I love foxies, and i remember when we lived in Glasgow we would see them all the time because we lived next to a big park. One time we even saw a little fox kit wandering through the neighbourhood. So cute!

Not only did I have some new stamps to use, but i also couldn’t resist using one of the new Limited Edition Tim Holtz fall distress ink colours- Ripe Persimmon. It is such a yummy colour. I remember when Bethany was little she used to debate whether her favourite colour was pink or purple. Now that she’s growing up so fast, i decided to use purple, rather than an overly girly pink. Ripe Persimmon distress ink was perfect.

To create the flower i used a Sizzix die that i had in my stash, but to create the dimensional curvy effect on the petals i placed the flowers upside-down on a foam mat and used the rounded tip of a paint brush to gently apply pressure in the middle. I did this with each flower and then finished off the centre with a little printed chipboard circle. The colour of the candle matched the project perfectly, so i couldn’t resist!

November already, huh? I really must start thinking about all the Christmas shopping i have to do…

Have a great day.x

Look what i found at my local craft store. 😀

I’ve been really enjoying using labels on my scrapbook pages, and have even made some of my own digitally using photoshop, but when i saw this stamp set i swear my heart skipped a beat. There are so many different styles, I can’t wait to get creative with them! There’s even one that you can use on your own ATCs.

There didn’t seem to be labeled with any manufacturer details, which is a shame because I wonder what other stamps they do.   I haven’t had a chance to play with them yet so hope they are sturdy and stamp well. Time will tell I guess.

I’ve cut the pack into thirds so they fit into my stamp box alongside all my other A5 clear stamps. yeay!

To see two of my recent layouts where I have used labels as part of the design checkout ‘Homeland scrapbook layout‘ and ‘First Mummy month week 1 scrapbook layout‘.

Happy Sunday everyone. have a great day!

WHAT? Where have I been?

So i know i’ve been really busy, but seriously???? How could I have missed that announcement!

As someone who has the whole collection of 36 Tim Holtz distress ink pads, imagine my shock when I stumble upon someone talking about limited edition colours! I think i actually shouted at my computer, and i frantically hit google. Geeeeez!

It turns out that Ranger have announced a limited edition trio of colours to the Distress Ink collection, especially designed with Autumnal colours. As ever, the colours are beautifully named with evocative titles: gathered twigs (a brown hue), ripe persimmon (an orange hue) and seedless preserves (a purple hue).

Tim has a great video to show us where these three colours lie in comparison to the other browns, orange and purple tones in the collection.

Check it out:

I have already placed an order – after all i can’t miss out on this limited edition set – that would mean my complete collection would once again be incomplete! If you want to get some too, you better act fast because apparently once they are gone, they are gone.

A little birdie tells me that they may be doing a winter edition as well- yipppppppppeeeeeeeeee!!

Come on postie – bring me my new distress inks to play with!
