Stepping out of the comfort zone

See larger image

I use a lot of pre-scored card blanks, I guess its just a comfort thing, and they are quick and easy to grab, and i don’t have to worry about making my own envelopes, but i’ve been experimenting recently with cutting up 12×12 scrapbook paper/card instead. I have discovered that its so much fun to cut the 12×12 square into 12×4 strips and then fold in half, and I love the way this makes a tall card that has a fold along the top. Its quirky, and I love it!

As a complete step out of the comfort zone, I cut up a piece of black cardstock to challenge myself into using this as the basic of the card.

Here’s one of the results. I also managed to use a few scraps from the scrap tub, which is always a great thing, and I managed to play with another one of my newest cuttlebug folders. The blue dotty paper is glittered so it didnt photograph well, but it looks fantastic in real life – very shiny!

Stamp is from the hero arts thank you messages clear stamps which I picked up on sale. I love ’em.

Why don’t you challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone today- i bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised…

Waiting….

See larger image

Hey everyone,

Happy Saturday!!

I want to share a secret layout with you today.

I made it earlier this year, a couple of months before we found the pink lines. I hated waiting every month, just counting down the days to see if this time, we might be lucky. Well, that is if it has anything to do with luck.

There were a few months of disappointment, and a whole lotta frustration, not to mention a few hormonal temper tantrums, but finally we got the two lines that we were hoping for. But every time, there was always that feeling of excitement. The wondering. The imagining. The waiting. A bitter sweet experience to say the least.

So, sorry for making you wait until I shared this with you, but we wanted to be past the dangerzone before we announced our family plans….and anyway, they say that good things come to those who wait!

xoxo

Hayley's New Home

See larger image

Hi ya,

A HuGe BiG Thank you to everyone who has been sending us their congratulations on our big news. We are so excited to be joining the ‘Mummy & Daddy Club’. The last few weeks have been rough, but I am thankful that I am now beginning to feel much better, and my diet has expanded from mashed potato and soup! I know I’m Irish, but mashed spuds and soup were starting to get a little tiresome!

And guess what else – I even got to play in my craft room this weekend! That is a sure sign that I am getting back on track! Yippppeeeeee!!

Here’s a sneaky peeky of a layout that i’m going to be sharing with you real soon…

But for today – a card to share. This has been in my box of cards for about three weeks now and for some reason it always manages to escape the photo shoots! I confessed to Hayley and Glenn that they definitely are getting a card, so the pressure is on to get it in the post to them! Ha ha! They must be in their new home about 2-3 months now – whooops!

This was my first play with my new Spellbinders scallop border die. I actually accidently bought the bigger one when I fully intended to buy the small one, but never mind. Of course I realised my mistake before opening the package, but I simply just cant hold something crafty and not play with it. I figured I would eventually buy this one too so I’d just keep it. heehee! Because i’ve been so sick, Craig is spoiling me rotten, so he was just glad that I was able to do a little crafting, even though this card to days to make because of the nausea.

The beautiful background paper is from the Quite Contrary line by My Minds Eye! I simply love this paper pad – so summery and bright, and definitely very girly, perfect for cousin Hayley. The greeny blue paper is also from MME, but is from the Bloom and Grow paper pack, which is getting rather thin im sad to say – but I guess thats a sign of a good purchase! I’m sure theres a few paper packs on my shelf that haven’t ever been opened! EEk!

The ‘New Home’ greeting I actually printed out on the computer – although I was so sure I had a New Home stamp in my stash – but I couldn’t find it, so i’ll just need to keep my eyes open incase I see a good one for sale. If you know of any, please let me know.

Oh, and the stamp is Unity Stamp Co…of course!

Thanks again for popping in.

Have a great day.
