Hello everyone,

Before I start talking about today’s card I wanted to remind everyone that the Chibitronics giveaway is still open – but not for long – so if you haven’t already entered – please head over to the giveaway blog post to find out how you can be-in-it-to-win-it!

I hope you are all having a great weekend! For us in the UK, its an extra long one, as tomorrow is a bank holiday – gotta love those three day weekends!

Today’s Hungry Heffy Crafts card making tutorial is to make a fun little baby boy card! I recently found out that friends from our University days recently became parents – even against some tremendous odds! I was so blown away by the news of their perfect little arrive, I swear I cried my eyes out when I heard the news. It was even more heart-wrenching because little Orran is a premie – and although perfect in every way, in the photo he looked so tiny and fragile.

I thought I would send his mumma and papa a HHC handmade card, and the Mama Elephant Just Hatched stamp set was the first stamp set that came to mind for this card! The little dino is so sweet – he was perfect for this card today!

I also paired this stamp set up with few other Mama Elephant stamp sets – first, the Sunday Sentiments set, and also the Iconic letters set so I could add his name to the inside of the card! I actually don’t normally decorate the inside, but I was glad that I did this time – I think it gives this card an extra pizazz, especially as I wanted the front to remain clean and simple.

To find out how I made the card, simply take a look at the video tutorial where I walk you though my process. If you have any questions, please be sure to leave me a comment either here on on YouTube – I am always happy to help if i can.

Thanks for watching!

Lesley

Hello Crafty gals and boys!

I’m spending today with some new Lawn Fawn goodies – and I’ve managed to make, video, edit and upload a video all in one day- which is pretty much a record for me. I was feeling proud as punch, until I noticed that there is an annoying flicker on the footage. Sorry about that guys. I have enlisted the help of mister husband to see if we can make sure that doesn’t happen on future videos. Grrr! Mega frustrating – I hope you can endure it for today.

Here’s today’s card! A fun interactive card featuring a carousel or merry-go-round – one of my childhood favourite funfair rides! We used to go to an Irish seaside town called Portrush, and they had the most amazing Carousel – it always seemed like pure magic to me and my sister!

I thought this unicorn would make the cutest little element for my carousel, and I coloured him with pastel copic colours, and added a layer of glitter with my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush marker. I then added some extra sparkle using the sakura clear glitter gel pen, around the horn and the mane. Everyone knows that unicorns are 98% sparkle!

Of course there is some distress inking, and whole load of diecutting. I even threw in a little heat embossing with holographic embossing powder – for an extra glimmery shine!

The video walks you through how I made the card from start to finish. I hope you enjoy it!

Don’t forget that the Chibitronics Giveaway is still open until 31 April 2017.

Head on over to this blog post to get more details on how you could win a Chibitronics starter kit.

Also coming up this week is the new release from Honey Bee Stamps. HBS are celebrating their birthday, so it’s the biggest release EVER! Be sure to visit the Honey Bee Stamps blog this week to see all the new goodies!

Happy crafting!

Helllllloooooo from this cute little mouse! I hope all my crafty friends are having a super day!

Today I want to share this card which features some of my favourite stamps sets, alongside some new products from a company which I have only recently discovered – AladinE.

When I was at Creativation, I was was walking down an aisle when I overheard a french accent coming from a demo table. I studied french at Uni so I was excited to check out the booth – and boy am I glad I did! I was excited to see a massive booth called AladinE, which had a huge range of crafty supplies – ink pads, stamps, dies, masks, fabric paints, markers and so much more. One of the most exciting products in my opinion was their texture paste. It works in a similar way to embossing paste, but it is far more robust. You can use it on metal, glass, card, wood and EVEN FABRIC! Yes – fabric, and its machine washable!

I decided to give it a try on a card today, along with a fun chevron mask and some embossing powder also some AladinE.

I thought I would use the paste to create a textured background, and then create a more whimsical design using layers of stamped images and vellum. I reached for the Mama Elephant Page Huggers stamp set along with the Yay, Kites set from Lawn Fawn -they were perfect for this card!

In the video you can see how I put together the whole card, although I will admit that I pre-stamped the images off camera first. I used my trusty copics to add some lovely colour to the images before diecutting them. I needed a few extra elements to build a ‘ground’, so I also used the Mama Elephant Up, Up and Away set to stamp some cute flowers.

I admit, I got a little bit stuck when it came to adding a greeting. I ummm-ed and aahhh-ed for about 10 minutes before settling on this scripty hello die cut from Simon Says Stamp. I used the Izink embossing powder to get the rich tomato colour, and mounted this onto die cut layers of foam to get great dimension on the card.

To finish it off, I added some little gems and dew drops from Honey Bee Stamps.

This card is a bit different to some of my other cards, but I am really happy with the way it turned out. I was really happy also with the texture paste and I cannot wait to try it out on some fabric. I even bought a little kids apron and I thought that Piper and I could have a go at decorating it for her. I think she will get a kick out of designing her own apron.

Thanks for stopping by and watching the video. See you again soon!
