I have never been one of those organised people who start making their Christmas cards in July. I think it’s because I don’t like putting pressure on myself to create, as the seems to be a sure-fire way to make the well of creative juices dry up! The very fact that I have made an Easter card BEFORE it’s even the month of Easter makes me feel very organised! WHOOOP! Even though technically, it kinda just happened organically because I wanted to play with this cute bunny stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs called Happy Hoppy.
For this card, I am using the no line watercolour technique but instead of watercolour paints, I am using distress inks…. so does that actually make it a no-line inking technique? Maybe!

I am so in love with the way my elements turned out, so soft and sweet –  but you will see in the video that I made a booboo! Here’s a quick phone photo of the elements before the whoopsie…

Normally I add some glitter with my Wink of Stella glitter brush marker, but closer to hand this week was a new tool in my craft room – the spectrum noir glitter brush pen. After I used it, sure enough, there was a layer of glittery magic, but it actually saturated the paper and a lot of the detail disappeared. Boo! I guess it reactivated the distress inks. Ah well… you live and learn!

I just think this little bunny is so adorable! I can’t wait to use him again!

Be sure to watch the video to see the full card making tutorial. Have a great day!

Hello and welcome back to Hungry Heffy Crafts! We are in the midst of an exciting week, celebrating the new Honey Bee Stamps release, which was designed in collaboration with ME!! (yippeee)

Today is day three, if you haven’t seen day one and two – you better go and take a look

DAY 1 – Announcing CELEBRATION BOX & HOORAY
DAY 2 – Annoucning WELCOME BABY

But today we are announcing PLAYFUL PUPS

I love animals, so it was particularly fun to create a set full of furry friends! In this set there is a larger dog which could be used as a mamma dog, and a whole litter of pups! I think this scruffy one is my fave! There is also a range of doggy accessories including separate tags which can be stamped onto the doggy collars!

Not only do I have two projects for you today, be sure to visit the Honey Bee Stamps blog where is there another project showcasing the new PLAYFUL PUPS set.

Let’s have a look at my projects using this set! First of all, this fun anniversary card!

For this card, I first stamped a load of the accessories randomly onto card and white heat embossed these. Next I used my trusty distress inks to blend an ombre effect over the stamped images – the embossed images resist the ink and really pop against the brightly coloured background!

The greeting I made using two stamps from the HOORAY stamp set. The font is basic and beautiful, and the words in this set can be used for so many occasions! You will get a better look on Friday when we do the full reveal!

Next I stamped two of the doggies onto neenah cardstock and coloured these using copic markers. I wanted one to look a little scruffy and one to look sleek – a bit like a weimaraner dog! They have such a gorgeous sleek silvery coat, so I used my warm greys to build up some silvery tones.

For the scruffy dog, I even added a cute little bow to make her a lady pup! The heart is from an older (but awesome) stamp set called Beautiful Life.

Let’s have a look at another project using these PLAYFUL PUPS!

What do you think of these three cuties!? I made a promise to myself to use more patterned paper in my projects this year so in this card I combined some patterned paper with some white card embossed with an embossing folder. I love the way dry embossing creates a lovely texture.

On this card I have used three different puppies from the PLAYFUL PUPS set, and given them each a bowl of chow! Two puppies have collars so I have coloured them to match their bowls.

I coloured this pups with some copic markers and then fussy cut the images. This stamp set does come with coordinating dies, but they were still in the factory when I was making this card, so i had to make do with a good old pair of fiskars scissors!

To add some texture and fun, I created some pennants to add to the card – I used a stamp from the set which can be used for this purpose, or can be used to make a bandanna on a pup. I like to think of new and creative ways to stretch my stamps like this!

So there you go, there is a sneak peek at PLAYFUL PUPS! Don’t forget to visit the Honey Bee Stamps Blog to see another project using this stamp set, and come back tomorrow to see another sneak peek!

Happy Crafting!

Hello everyone, and welcome to DAY 2 of sneak peeks for the New Honey Bee Stamps release, which I helped design! (squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!)

Today we have a fun stamp set that i sure to have you coo-ing with delight! Let me introduce you all to ‘Welcome Baby

Yes! As you can see, this stamp set is perfect to announce the arrival of a new little prince or princess! It has this cute baby, which not only comes with a lot of toys and baby accessories, but you can also add on pigtails to make this baby into a little madame.

Let me share with you a card that I made using this set, which is also featured on the Honey Bee Stamp blog today.

This card was actually super quick and simple – a good example of how you can let the products do the work for you! First I stamped the baby onto some neenah cardstock, and then stamped and cut out a mask by stamping the same image onto post-it paper. I did the same with some cute pigtails that I added to the side of her noggin!

Once I had added the mask, I then used two stamps from the Hooray stamp set to repeat stamp a background. I used the MISTI tool to help me get the alignment nice and even. Once the background was stamped, I peeled away the mask and simply added some colour with my copic markers.

This is a fun way to make a one-layer card, but I mixed things up by layering this panel onto some pink and some gold glitter cardstock -just for some fun!

I thought it would be fun to share ANOTHER project using this stamp set – just so you guys can have another peeky! 🙂 You’re welcome!

This card was inspired by one of my previous creations, and I thought the three peekaboo images from the Welcome Baby stamp set set perfect images for this design! These peekaboo stamps work so well with the CELEBRATION BOX stamp set from this release – if you haven’t seen it yet – be sure to take a look at yesterday’s post!

Here’s a closer look at these cute little guys!

I used some circle dies to cut three holes from a panel of cardstock, and then inked up the background using some ink blending brushes. I then used some of the small images from the CELEBRATION BOX stamp set to add some extra whimsy to each area!

I added a greeting to the front of my card using the HOORAY stamp set – so many great combinations of saying in this set! I love it! Then the peekaboo images were stamped and coloured using copic markers and added to the card.

These little peekaboo images are so much fun to add to cards, and they work SO WELL with the CELEBRATION BOX stamp set – take a look at yesterdays post to see a sneak of that one!

Thanks for stopping by, and come back tomorrow for another sneak peek– tomorrow’s set is my favourite.. I think! OH its hard to choose! 🙂

See you then!
