Hello everyone! I am so excited to bring to you the FIRST day of SNEAK PEEKS for the new Honey Bee Stamps Release, in collaboration with little old me- Lesley Oman.

To start the week we are giving you a sneak of TWO new sets – that’s right, not one but TWO.  First up take a look at ‘CELEBRATION BOX’.

This stamp set is jam packed full of lots of images which will be perfect for all those celebratory occasions. There’s balloons, strings, confetti, and other images that will have you reaching for this set time and time again.

This stamp set will also have matching dies, along with a fun die where you can add flaps to the box for more dimensional results! SO EXCITING!

For our second reveal, we are giving you an awesome set full of words! Take a look at ‘HOORAY

This one was designed by Melissa and is a larger size at 4”x8”. It has the perfect mix of large, scripty words mixed with simple, elegant text – and they all coordinate so well! The stamp set has been designed with this release in mind, so you will see that they work great with the other stamp sets revealed this week, but it will also get a lot of mileage with the rest of your stash! It’s always nice to have a great text-based stamp set in your collection!

As this set is all text, there are no dies for this stamp set – but all the other stamp sets will have matching dies! <3

Over on Instagram and Facebook, we are sharing some sneak peeks of some projects that I made, but you guys are the lucky ones because you get to see the WHOLE PROJECTS not just the peeks!

First up, take a look at this one!

For this card I stamped the box twice using a grey ink and layered it up so my balloon string was emerging from the inside of the box.

I coloured my balloon with some copic markers using a simple blending technique, and added a cute bow to attached it to the silver string.

When you get to see the stamp set (in Friday’s big reveal) there is one image where it isn’t obvious what it is. I call it the ray of light image, and you can see on this card how I have used the emboss resist technique to stamp rays of light emerging from the box, and then added some distress ink blending over the top to make these rays pop!

For the greeting, I used the Celebrate stamp from the Hooray set, and white heat embossed this on some card inked with distress ink!

Here’s another project for you guys, showcasing both the Celebration Box and the Hooray stamp set!

I started by cutting a long piece of post-it tape with a craft knife, right down the middle in a curve. Then I adhered this onto a piece of cardstock and added some colour in the middle section using distress inks. I worked the ink back and forth until I had a beautifully blended rainbow effect on my background, then I spritzed with a little water to reactivate the in and create fun distress splotches!

For each colour of ink I used, I stamped a balloon and coloured it with coordinating copic markers, then I stamped some balloon strings and cut them out. Unfortunately my dies had not yet arrived when I made this card, so I had to fussy cut the hard way- but lucky for you guys the matching dies will make this an absolute breeze!

For some extra fun, I added a thick layer of glossy accents to the middle, pink balloon, and before it was dry I sprinkled on a few sequins from the Honey Bee Stamps exclusive embellishment line!

So there you have it! Day one of our sneak peeks, and tomorrow I will be back with another sneak peek as we announce our third stamp set, with matching dies!

BUT don’t forget to head over to the HONEY BEE STAMPS BLOG TODAY where you can see another project made using the sets announced today.

And I will see you back here tomorrow!

Happy Crafting!

Now that Creativation is over, I have been spending my time editing and uploading some videos for the HungryHeffyCrafts YouTube channel so you guys can all take a peek at some of the amazing new products that were released last week.

Not only was it super fun to drool over the fabulous products, but by far the best part of this whole experience, for me, was meeting some of the amazing people in this industry.  I took a few photos as I walked the show floor, and thought it would be fun to do a Creativation Selfie Roundup. This is a small selection of the awesome people who make this industry great – and I think you should check out their websites and follow them on their own creative journeys!

Shimelle Laine
This year Shimelle was showcasing her 6th line with American Crafts – Little By Little. Scrapbook papers, stickers and much, much more!

Christy and Amanda are helping me with an upcoming super secret project, so I was delighted to hear that they were at the show, so I had to hunt them down. The range of stamps from JoyClair include some beautiful stamps that are very popular for Bible Journaling. They even have some stamps designed by Crystal Thompson (see below).

Suzy Gray
Suz and I go waaaaaaay back, it was hard to believe that we hadn’t even met face to face before! Suz and I used to run a monthly scrapbooking challenge over on the Paperclipping forum, ran by Noelle Hyman. We follow each other on social media and she is such a sweetheart – she is a big fan of the Hungry Heffy Crafts Christmas special edition video where my 5 year old Piper gets crafty! If I do the maths, I’m pretty sure we have been crafty friends for about 10 years! Isn’t that amazing!

Crystal Thompson
This girl is the sweetest! I met Crystal through Honey Bee Stamps when I joined her on the Design Team last year. Crystal has a long list on her creative resume, and a quick look at her projects on Instagram will show you why. She is one talented cookie – and she has even designed stamps for Joy Clair Stamps. I feel so blessed to get the opportunity to meet her in person! She has a kind heart and a stellar smile!

Kristina Werner
I totally had a fan girl moment with this one! I spied Kristina perusing one of the booths and plucked up the courage to go say hello and ask for a photo! If you haven’t checked out her YouTube channel, I encourage you to do so. She puts a professional twist on this creative industry, and she is definitely a jack-of-all-trades – whether it is ink blending, stamping, watercolouring, stamp designing or brush lettering – this girl can do it all!

Amy Tan aka Amy Tangerine
Another fun and fabulous face of the scrapbooking world is Amy Tangerine. Her new line On A Whim will definitely get you in the mood for Summer! She had the most adorable inflatable doughnut at her booth, which matched her donut puffy alpha thicker stickers – you have really gotta see them! Amy has also just released her own book ‘Craft The Life You Love’ – it is a mix of advice, stories and fun, interactive prompts…..and I have just ordered it on Amazon as it is on a special offer of $10! 😀

Gerda Steiner – Gerda Steiner Designs Stamps
Earlier this month I had the pleasure of guest designing for Gerda Steiner Designs, and I am going to be sharing another Guest Designer blog post on the GSD blog next month. It was such a treat to be able to meet face to face with such a talented illustrator, and not only did she kindly buy me a coffee, but she gifted me some more GSD Stamps! So keep a look out for upcoming projects!

Cheryl Espie – Link Crafty Cards
This girl was my lucky star this weekend! <3 We follow each other on Instagram and Facebook and we messaged each other before Creativation so we could meet for coffee. Best decision ever! We hit it off straight away and over the course of 48 hours, us two crafty ladies became bosum buddies! There was coffee, dancing at The Duce, hula hoop competitions, rickshaws and Craft suprestores…along with a whole lotta laughs! I have a funny feeling we are going to be fast friends for a long time!

Cheryl
At the Art Impressions booth they were giving out lanyards with badges which had a number on them. It was part of a game where you had to find your match in order to win a prize. The number was so small, I pretty much gave up after an hour – too many people in a very large area. But by pure chance, I bumped into this lovely lady! We skipped all the way to the Ai booth and each of us got a free stamp set! YAY! Throughout the show, we kept bumping into each other too! Such fun! I am certain I took her card, but cannot for the life of me find it – so Cheryl – reach out so i can link you up! 🙂

Melissa Hewitt – Honey Bee Stamps
Without this lady, I don’t think this trip would have happened, and I am SO thankful for this opportunity! Last year I was lucky enough to be selected on the design team for Honey Bee Stamps, and since then I have had lots of doors opened to me..with more announcements coming SUPER SOON! 😉 Not only did Melissa and gang welcome me with a big hug, but she (and the other Honey Bees) were so amazing they invited me into their place, took me on crafty adventures, fed me dinner, let me craft with all their supplies and even let me stay overnight for a sleepover. I feel so close to these girls and love them to the moon and back!

Taniesa Vlasak – The Crafty Pickle
I don’t think i can hug this lady enough! Another kindred spirit that helped make this long weekend extra especially fun! T is another one of the Honey Bee Stamps girls, along with Lisa Cineros and Carrie Bryant who, unfortunately I didn’t manage to get a selfie with! Taniesa is so bubbly, energetic and a talented crafty lady – so we got along like a house on fire! I am go glad we got to spend this weekend together!

Kathy Racoosin – The Daily Marker
I found this lovely lady over at the Hero Arts Booth where she was hosting a make and take. If you are unfamiliar with Kathy, then you are missing out on a spectacular phenomenon! Kathy Rac is the creative genius behind the 30 Day Daily Marker challenge where a plethora of crafty peeps join in with a month long journey full of pencils, markers and watercolours. This is one of the most buzzworthy events in the crafty world that is definitely worth a look. And whats more, she is a sweet and talented lady. I was so blown away by her genuine and caring nature. She’s the best!

Jennifer McGuire – Jennifer McGuire Ink
This was like meeting craft royalty FOR SURE! Jennifer was also on the Hero Arts make & take table along with Kathy Rac, and I had the pleasure of chatting to her for a while whilst I made a fun card. Jennifer has one of the most informative, professional blogs that is a beacon of inspiration for all cardmakers, and her videos are always so beautifully made. She was so down to earth and friendly, it felt like a simple chat amongst friends. I am so glad I managed to meet her.

Kelly-Marie Alvarez – Lawn Fawn
If you are familiar with my blog or YouTube channel, then you will know that I am a total Lawn Fawn geek! As soon as I went into the exhibition hall, I took a bee line over to the Lawn Fawn booth. So many beautiful things to see – the projects were simply gorgeous, the products were amazing and every single person at that booth were informed, friendly and buzzing with excitement – just like I was! I saw Kelly-Marie, and went to say hello. This was BY FAR the best moment of the whole show – I introduced myself as Lesley from Hungry Heffy Crafts and she said ‘Oh yeah, I know Hungry Heffy, I have seen your videos!’. I am TELLING YA— i nearly died right there. Craig always jokes that the big dream is that Lawn Fawn asks me to design for them. He kept telling me to email Lawn Fawn, but I felt that they must get so many people asking so never had the guts to do it. I never once imagined that Kelly-Marie would actually watch my videos, never mind REMEMBER THEM! She was an absolute gem – so genuine, so lovely, so friendly, so adorably sweet, so smiley…. she is totally my idol! They say you should never meet your idol, but this weekend I did, and i was NOT disappointed! Oh what a happy day! Thank you Kelly-Marie for making this crafty girl a very happy girl!

Thank you for joining me on this selfie-adventure – it was fun to meet so many wonderful people on this adventure. There were definitely a few more that I was hoping to be on this list – Irit Shalom (who was a gem and told me where to go to in order to get free food and enter competitions), Carrie Bryant and Lisa Cineros – and everyone that was kind enough to let me take a video of them for my YouTube videos. I was also hoping to meet Sandy Allnock, Christina urias and Tim Holtz, but I never found them on my travels. Maybe next time!

Hello my crafty friends. I am having such a blast at Creativation so far! There’s so much to see and do and most importantly so many wonderful people to meet! I’m taking lots of videos and a few selfies as I geek-out meeting all the amazing crafters I admire so much. I’m trying to post onto Instagram when I can and I’ll be publishing videos onto my YouTube channel a couple of times a day. I’m going to update this post every time a new video goes live so you can either check back here for updates or keep an eye on my YouTube channel. So without further ado, onto the crafting!
