Hi everyone.

Distress inks and Heroarts stamps – A match made in heaven, a delightful combination.

I got some new colours of distress inks a week or two ago and I knew that I wanted to play with them and show them off to you all, so I threw together a few cards using my heroarts stamps. Man, was it fun, and I loved the results!!

Check ’em out.

And while you are here, pop on over to thepaperlife to see part two of my spotlight where you can see some more of my projects and some exclusive pics of where I scrap. And if you haven’t already, enter the HUGE scrapbooking giveaway by leaving a comment here. You can find details of the prize there too. But be quick, drawing closes on Sunday.

Two weeks until my brother Roge, Shelly and Josh come to visit. I can’t wait. I haven’t seen Josh since April, and he’s turned three since then. Three is my favourite kids age, because its a time when they can hold conversations yet they are still trying to figure out the logic of the world. It’s at this age that they say the funniest things. I remember when my nephew Luke was three. During a car journey to Enniskillen someone said the phrase money doesn’t grow on trees, which obviously got Luke thinking. “Auntie Lesley”, says Luke, “where does money come from? After a second or two of thinking, I tried to choose my words carefully: “There are special factories called mints where people make the money”.
Luke: “Can I make the money?”
Me: “No, no; only special people can make the money”.
At this point, Luke looks to my mum in the drivers seat and pipes up “but Nannie Coalter, I AM special, aren’t I?”.

The kid had a point.

As I couldn’t spend the day with Josh on his third birthday :0( I spent the day thinking of him, or perhaps I should say crafting about him. I am constantly chasing and pestering my family to send me photos of all the kids so I can keep track of how big they’ve got and see how much they have changed as the weeks and months go by. So I made a little mini book showcasing a selection of the photos I had of Josh throughout the first 24 months of his life.

For the basis of the book, I used some papers from the My Minds Eye Bloom and Grow 6×6 paper pack. i love MME’s products and was delighted that I could get my hands on a small pack for an affordable price of £3.75. When it arrived I was surprised to see a sticker on the pack that said that this pack is a UK and Europe exclusive pack. I’d never seen that before.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the pack was mixed with single sided paper, double sided paper, lightweight patterned cardstock and embossed papers. What a bargain, and such great designs.

This mini book was also a great opportunity for me to use the new journaling stamps I bought on holiday. I think they are awesome, and i can’t get enough of them. they are made by ‘Tampons maniak’ and I have found a site that sells them if you want to get your hands on them, just click here.

Thank You to Heroarts!

Last week whilst on holiday my darling hubby was teasing me and calling me a geek because I couldn’t go even one day without wanting to check Twitter. Well, I had the last laugh in the end!

Awesome craft company Heroarts, not only make beautiful and versatile stamps but they are also VERY generous and often give away prizes to their followers on twitter. Last week I happened to retweet a message about the new Heroarts collection over at 2peas, simply because I enjoyed looking through the lovely new stamp collection, and i was bowled over when heroarts announced that I had won a prize. Not only that but my friend CraftySuz had also retweeted and was a winner too.

My prize arrived on Friday, and I seriously jumped with joy and excitement. Not one but two fabulous clear stamp sets, one of which I have totally fallen in love with already. So as a thank you to heroarts, here are a collection of cards made using the great stamps you sent me.

If you are on twitter you can follow me here, and you can follow heroarts here.

If you want to get your hands on these stamps, if you click on the pic it will take you to the store.
