HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY Y’ALL

<3

We are celebrating Moms today over here in the UK, and so its only fitting that I have a Mothers’ Day card to share in today’s video tutorial. Whats more, it features lots of products from the awesome MAMA Elephant! This is one of my favourite stamp manufacturers and I was so in love with the Lil’ Painters stamp set that I was very naughty and bought it as soon as I saw it arrive in a UK online store!

I simply HAD to use it for todays card. Whilst I was giving in to my crafty retail urges, i spied that the Mama Elephant zipper die was also in stock. I have been wanting this for ages, so i just went ahead and clicked ‘Add to Cart’ without a moments hesitation! Teehee!
The idea for this card was to create a white top panel, with a colourful panel beneath, so when you pull the zipper a colourful cardstock can be seen, with the message ‘you’re a good egg’. This message is from the Mama Elephant Just Hatched set. Of course, this silly legit didn’t take a photo of the hidden message but you will be able to see it in the video. On my card, I wanted there to be a family of cute chickies, all having fun drawing a picture of mummy. The cute easel is in the Lil’ Painters set, but I pulled out the ‘mother hen’ image from the Mama Elephant Lunar Animals stamp set (technically i think its a rooster, but lets not dwell on that) 🙂

I used my distress inks and a damp paintbrush to add some loose colour to the bottom of the panel, and after I coloured my images with copics and stuck them down, I added some splotches of pink and blue ‘paint’ using Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers distress inks. I wanted it to look like these chicks were getting super messy – we all know kids love messy play!

For the greeting I built the word Hello from the ME alphabet stamp set called Cali Letters, then added the word MOM with the new Iconic letters set. I love the way you can build the shadow on top of the solid image!

On the inside, i added a few extra images from the Lil’ Painters set and stamped a greeting on the inside – for this I used a Paula Pascal stamp set called All Year Round. It has some awesome words that come in useful for holidays all year round!

Thanks for joining me, and I hope you enjoy the video.

Happy Mummy’s Day to my Mummsy and Mom (mother in law) – they really are the best this gal could ask for!

Happy crafting

Lesley

Hello Crafty Friends!

it’s entering PARTY SEASON for us Omans! Piper turned six this week, her BFF’s birthday is this week, and then hubby is celebrating his Bday at the end of the month. After this, it is a full run of birthdays in the Oman/Coalter clans.

As well as prepping for parties and planning celebratory shenanigans, I have been working on an order for some bespoke HungryHeffyCrafts cards for the wonderful HumanGammaBomb and fam! Little Bram is turning 4, and today I wanted to share a shaker card that I made using some Lawn Fawn goodness!

I have used quite a few Lawn Fawn stamps – Loveable Legends, So Jelly, Mermaid For You and Party Animals. And don’t they all look some magnificent together – I love mixing the stamp sets to create complete scenes!

My background has some distress ink blending, splattered with water for a distressed look, and I have added some stamped images in blue to create a silhouette look.

I coloured all my guys with copic markers. That squid was an absolute brute – he simply did not want to blend, but I think I got him sorted in the end! 🙂 Oh, and in case you are wondering, the frame die and number die I bought from an App on my phone called WISH.

I have a full video for you guys – walking you through from start to finish! I hope you enjoy taking a closer look!

Hello everyone,

Today I have a sweet and simple card to share, using some images from the Curious Kitties stamp set, as well as some word stamps from the the hello gorgeous & hooray stamp sets.

I decided to start off with watercolour cardstock today, and use some decorative dies to cut an inverted scallop in the middle. Then I used some stitched circle dies to create a circular area, upon which i stamped this kitty and mouse image.

I coloured them in lightly with some watercolour paints, as I wanted a subtle colouring on this card. The real pop comes from the beautiful glitter paper layered behind the cardstock.

I also masked off an area so I could add a ground and wall with some distress inks.

For a rest of the card, I added some cute paw prints then added a greeting. First I stamped the word ‘hello’ using a subtle blue colour of ink, then stamped the ‘little one’ in black. If I was making this card again, I would make sure the hello wasn’t cut off quite so much, but I think you can still tell what it says!

Thanks for stopping by!
