Sometimes you make a card and you hardly even want to give it away!

I am so in love with this card! I think it is because I have used so many of the fabulous brands that I love – and they all work so beautifully together on this one little A2 sized masterpiece!

Thanks to everyone who joined me for the LIVE Come Craft With Me show over on YouTube where I made this card LIVE on air. If you missed it – don’t worry, you can always watch the replay above!

Let’s take a look at the finished card!

This is a teacher thank you card that I have made using products from Heffy Doodle, Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, Studio Katia, Simon Says Stamp and Hero Arts! Talk about mixing and matching your stamps!

For my teacher I used the elephant from the Heffy Doodle Elephant of Surprise set, and added a pair of glasses (from the Mama Elephant Page Huggers set) and her skirt is made using the fairy house roof in the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends set! teehee!

For the blackboard I used the easel from the Mama Elephant Lil Painters stamp set – it was an awesome addition to this fun scene!

I knew I wanted to add these fairies from Lawn Fawn, because I recently got some beautiful sequin and bead mixs from Studio Katia – and they just reminded me of fairies! So I had to add them in there too!

In the Hero Arts set called Everyday Saying, there was this sweet whimsical image that said ‘you’re the best’ – i thought it kinda looked like a child’s handwriting – so i mixed that with some Lawn Fawn Milo’s ABCs to create my sentiment on the front, and then added the ‘Thank you fairy much’ on the inside (from Fairy Friends, Lawn Fawn).

To carry the design through to the inside, I stamped another elephant for the inside of my card. This Ellie is in a different pose, but is from that same Heffy Doodle Elephant of Surprise stamp set. I think she looks so sweet!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and i hope you will join me next week for another YouTube LIVE crafting session – Friday nights at 9pm BST over at https://youtube.com/hungryheffy

Have a great day!

Hey crafty friends,

I have set up my event for this Friday’s Come Craft With Me LIVE stream, and realised that I never did share last week’s CCWM project on my blog! What a silly sausage I am!

I had such a blast on last weeks show – firstly – our audio worked a dream! YIPPPPEEEEE!! WOOOHOOO! I cannot tell you how happy that made me (and Craig, even more so!). Also last week was the first CCWM since we launched Heffy Doodle stamps! And after a fantastic start to our kickstarter campaign, I was kinda on cloud nine!

When I was designing these stamps I really wanted to bring you guys a new stamp brand that you (AND I) could use alongside some of our other favourite brands. So in this CCWM show, I used both Heffy Doodle and Lawn Fawn products to demonstrate how beautiful they go together.

We had a little vote – should these critters be picnic-ing at the beach or in the forest? This week Craig did some magic and made the comments appear on the playback screen, which means that everyone who doesn’t get a chance to watch it live will still be able to keep track of the conversation and interactions! Hope you like that new feature – we’ve had great feedback so far!

And as you can guess  – the beach won!

For this card, I used the simple stitched border dies, the stitched cloud backdrop & the ocean hillside pop up die (all from Lawn Fawn) to create this beach scene. I added some distress ink to create the beach.

I used the Blah Bunny dies from Honey Bee Stamps to create my own plaid picnic blanket. I am so thrilled with how this turned out! Super cute!

I used a selection of stamps from my stash to create the dashed, dotted and solid lines.

I added a croc and a bear from Heffy Doodle stamps, along with some accessories such as the cake, the wine glass and wine bottle, and for the beach accessories I used some Lawn Fawn stamps in my stash.

I used Critters of the sea as well as Life is Good from Lawn Fawn – and I love how these stamps work so well with one another.

I struggled for a while in regards to a greeting – but it all paid off in the end! I love this message  – it is from a super old stamp set called Everyday sayings from Hero Arts. oh… and the sun is from the Sunday Strolls set from Mama Elephant. I am glad i added it in the end!

If you missed the LIVE stream, don’t worry – you can watch the video playback above. It is fun to put on in the background when you get crafty!

There is another Come Craft With Me coming up this week. Every Friday, at 9 pm BST / 4 pm EST, you can find me over at the Hungry Heffy YouTube channel.

Here is a sneaky peek of this weeks card – it will be a teacher thank you card, and once again I am mixing and matching different stamp brands together to create an extra fun card! Click the photo to go to the event  and you can then tell YouTube if you want to be notified when the show goes live. <3

Sending big crafty hugs

Hello there,

I thought it was about time that i shared a ‘normal’ video tutorial with you guys! HAHA! If you are subscribed to my YouTube channel, you will have noticed a change over the last few months where I have been releasing less of the shorter 8-10 minute videos, and my content has been mostly the LIVE crafting sessions. (Which are super fun and you should definitely join in – Fridays at 9pm BST)

But today I have a shorter video which I hope you will all enjoy – one which you may have seen over on the Heffy Doodle Kickstarter page – and in the reveal videos too.

For this card I am showcasing the Elephant Of Surprise stamp set from Heffy Doodle, and I am also using a small image from the Interactively Yours stamp set – also from Heffy Doodle.

I start by stamping my cardstock to create a striped background using some Simon Says Stamp fog ink, and then die cut some circles using a SSS circle die. I grabbed some pattern paper, vellum and acetate before stamping and embossing the greeting onto the vellum – which would be inside the shaker window.

I also stick two dies together using some washi tape so I can cut out a frame as well as two pieces of craft foam which have had Stick-It adhesive adhered to both sides – this allows me to build up my shaker panel on the front of the card. I used some sequins from Lucy’s Cards – as I ADORE her sequin mixes so much!

The images I stamped using my MISTI and coloured with copic markers. I kept the colouring pretty simple, as I like the cutesy cartoon look that they give. I decided to add the sad little elephant on the front and then surround him with some of the cool accessories in the set.

For the inside of the card, I used the circle that was left over when I die cut my shaker frame – I thought it would be fun to add this to the inside. I also wanted to have an ACTUAL surprise on the inside – and I thought one of those action-wobblers would be perfect….unfortunately, I didn’t have any….

…But I am not the kinda girl that lets THAT stand in the way – so I show you in the video how I made my own easy-peasy action wobbler device! OH YEAH!

In case you were wondering, the blue embossing powder is from Cosmic Shimmer – and OH BOY does it shimmer! It has such a gorgeous pearly sheen – its just amazing!

Thank you guys so much for joining me today – please do leave a comment if you get a chance.

If you haven’t already, and are considering buying some Heffy Doodle stamps – head on over to the Kickstarter page which is currently the only place that you can get these products right now. PLUS you get a reduced price and there also lots of savings in the bundle packages.

AND.. before you go, I am participating in a HEFFY DOODLE blog hop on Saturday 15th July – so mark your calendars because it is going to be awesome! And of course there will be a prize to celebrate the hop! See you then!

Happy Crafting!

Lesley
