Hello everyone,

It’s a special day today, because us Chibitronics gang are teaming up with the amazingly talented individuals over at MFT Stamps for a super awesome COLLABORATION!

Over the course of today and tomorrow (15th & 16th Feb), please head over to the chibitronics and MFT stamps blogs to start the hop and see all the inspiration.

If you hop along, please remember to leave a like and a comment – and then you can be in with a chance to win a Chibitronics starter kit or a $50 voucher to the MFT stamps store! What are you waiting for!?

So let’s talk about my project. If you are familiar with my work, you will probably know that I louuuurve an interactive card. BUT sometimes I get these crazy ideas in my head and I want to push it to the LIMIT! I get totally overexcited, and I have a mindset of ‘MAKE IT WORK!’.

A few months ago, I made a slider pop up card, and I thought it would be awesome if I could find a way to incorporate the slider element into a Chibitronics circuit. And this was the perfect occasion to try.

Scroll down to watch the video tutorial on how I made this card, which features the Blueprint sketch 28 dies, Otterly love you stamps and the Bitty Bears stamps, all from MFT stamps. I also used a small ‘Pull Here’ stamp from Heffy Doodle Stamps’ Interactively Yours stamp set.

At first glance, this card looks clean and simple – what a cute little otter, huh? The background I made using Distress Oxide inks and I spritzed a stencil with some water (with a little perfect pearls powder mixed in), then laid my inked background on top. This results in this beautiful transference of the stencil design. At the top, can you see the little ‘pull here’ sentiment?

When you slide up the card, it reveals BIG SURPRISES! Not only do you see the ‘You have my heart’ sentiment on the pull tab (from the Bitty Bears stamp set), and of course you get to see the ‘I’m otterly in love with you’ sentiment on the revealed section…. but the little otter has popped up AND the heart in his hands is GLOWING PINK!

Like I said, the circuit is indeed one of the more advanced circuits – but it just goes to prove that there are lots of possibilities with these fun little light stickers. Don’t let it scare you though, there’s loads of amazing projects using a simple circuit. Search my blog for Chibitronics to find more if you want to take a look.

Here’s a little peak from the side. I am in love with this guy. My daughter Piper (6yo) has been playing with him all day!

Don’t forget to watch the video to see how it was made, and to be in with chances to win a prize, leave a comment below.

Here are the links that take you to the other blogs in this hop for today. There are more fantastic projects on the line up for tomorrow, 16th Feb.

Happy weekend crafty friends!

If you didn’t get a chance to watch the LIVE version of Come Craft With Me this Friday, then you can always watch the replay right here on Hungry Heffy Crafts, or over on the Hungry Heffy YouTube channel.

This Friday I ended up making two cards and a Christmas tag. Let’s take a look.

I created my own pink and blue striped panel using washi tape and some masking paper – I was trying out some new finger daubers that I got at last weeks craft fair. I then used my baby party animals stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to create the sweet critters. These guys are adorable in my opinion!

I added some inking to the background, stuck down some swiss dot embossed clouds and added some hearts and gems to the BABY panel. I love how it turned out!

Next up was a card with retirement in mind. My crafty friend Dennice has a boss who is leaving soon, and so I thought about making a card that would work for someone’s retirement. I wanted clean, simple and classic. So I embossed some rose gold embossing powder onto grey card and then cut out the letters to read Good Luck Boss – leaving a gap for another sentiment in the middle (from Mama Elephant Up & Away stamp set).

I didn’t have a lot of time left, so decided to make a tag. I had to use these Heffy Doodle Elfish Antics for this tag, they are cute, huh!?

I also used the sentiment from the Heffy Doodle Elfing Christmas words stamp set. For the tag I used Lawn Fawn scalloped rectangles, rounded rectangle dies and also some Avery Elle falling snow dies. The ribbon and jingle bells give it such a festive feel!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look. At the moment I am working on creating an unboxing video for the Brother Scan n Cut CM900 machine, so watch this space!

Also – I should note – NO Come Craft With Me next Friday 24th November. It is the Christmas Fayre at Piper’s school and yours truly has been roped into doing some face painting! 🙂

Happy Crafting my friends!

Lesley
