This page was the first page that I made, and I picked a bright and cheery colour palate and used journaling strips as my main design feature of this page. I made the word ‘Uni’ myself using my craft robo and some plain blue paper, and then to add some interest I used a rubber stamp to add the grid design to the letters. I also made the journaling spot from scratch too. If like me you really love the look of the journaling style products which are very popular in the craft industry right now, then maybe you could try this at home. Using a word processing software, create a table and print it onto coloured paper. Next, using a paper punch, line up the table and punch out a circle shape. I then took my circle and stuck this onto a scrap piece of cream cardstock, and using decorative edge scissors cut the scalloped border around the circle.
Journaling reads:
My first taste of independance and my first adventure away from the comforts of home. Geddes Court was infamous for being the skankiest hall of residence at our uni – and I was lucky enough to live on the 5th floor (& no lift of course!). Rumour has it that ‘the Gheddo’ was modelled on a swedish prison block and it wouldnt surprise me, with its white washed breeze block walls, tiny individual cell-like rooms and the basic shared cooking & washing facilities. Nevertheless, first year @ uni wasn’t all that bad – it was full of friends, parties, laughter, and a new found love!
