OK, a quick project sprinkled with a load of exciting news.

First, I am excited and proud to be taking part in a local Christmas Craft and Pamper Evening at a local school in Addlestone next month. This is going to be sooo much fun, i’ll be bringing a long all my boxes of cards to sell along with some projects which can be made to order, such as the accessory holders, the name plaques and notebooks. Thank you so much Kira for thinking of me and getting me involved with this. And if you are in the area on 12th Nov, come a long to see me please!

Secondly, have you been following Thepaperlife? If not, WHY NOT? You really should be. For more than one reason – it is a place where you can find lots of inspiration from great crafters, listen to podcasts as they share the fun aspect of their paperlife with us, and whats more there is a giveaway every week…YES, every week. There is a messageboard where experts are there to help with any questions, and above all, everyone is really really nice and friendly. Whats more, I am thrilled to share that little old me will be spotlighted next month, and I have such an exciting prize to share with you all. Go and check out thepaperlife website and meet inspirational crafters such as Leslie Ashe, Erin Bassett, Stephanie Howell, Christine Urias…..

Thirdly, remember my post about the provocraft gypsy? Wanna win one? Who wouldn’t? I want one just because it looks so cool. Noell from Paperclipping is being awesome again and is offering a FANTASTIC giveaway competition, so head on over there to get in on some of that action.

Fourthly, (is that even a word?) the October challenge is now up over on the Paperclipping Crop circle. Suz and I have come up with a number of challenge points to whet your appetite and get those creative juices flowing! Go check ’em out here.

And now, the crafty bit….

This is a little project that I made for my Assistant Manager at work. She is so cool, and humble, and friendly and helpful, and sweet and she makes my day so much easier than what it used to be. Georgie turned 21 earlier in the month and because it was a special birthday for a special person, I wanted to make an extra special card for her. Because so many of our clients, contractors, employees and friends knew about Georgie’s birthday I first thought about making an A4 card. But I hate using A4 envelopes – dunno why, i just do. So I starting thinking in a different direction. The end result was this little mini book / birthday greetings collection made primarily with my new labels spellbinder dies, which I am in love with! Whats that? You want to make one? OK, here’s a quick tutorial…

1. Using your labels die, run this through your cuttlebug to cut out a front and back cover for the book using cardstock, and cut out a selection of inner pages from scrap paper or you can use the inside pages of an old notebook.

2. Using your crop o dile, punch a hole for your binding ring – and remember that the crop o dile can punch through several pages at once. (love my crazy croppo)

3. To decorate the cover, run the cardstock through the cuttlebug with the Swiss dots embossing folder, then sand the embossed dots. Using marker pens, highlight random dots to create a cool and colorful effect.

4. Pick a chipboard letter and attack it with some gesso.

5. Add buttons, thread, flower, gem and sparkly number stickers for some added pazzazz.

6. Pester everyone you know to write messages inside, and then present to that special someone with a big hug.
