Happy St Patricks day everyone! Being Irish, I couldn’t let today pass by without sharing a little bit of green with you.
This card is not particularly overwhelmingly difficult, but it definitely makes an impact. I’ve used one of the Paper Pizzazz templates, distributed through Trimcraft. These are sheets of plasma which have laser cut templates cut in.
This is a really easy way to make beautiful 3d elements, and is perfect for making your own embellishments to match a particular project. This particular template is called ‘Fold It Swirls’ and has this cool Shamrock shape, but also includes a rose, 4-petal flower, a star flower, buttercup and a spiral. All you do is trace the template on to the back of a piece of pattern paper. Then cut it out using scissors or a craft knife, and follow the instructions already printed onto the template on how to fold the 3d element together.
One of my favourite things about this template is that the instructions are printed onto the sheet. How many times have you had a tool, put the instructions in the bin (or filed it away ‘somewhere safe’) and then you bring it out to use it after a week, or a month, and you don’t remember how to use it!?
Another cool thing is that it is flat, so you can slip it into a book or file – it actually has holes so you can put it in a file. I have a couple and I pull them out every now and again, but every time I am always amazed that they look so awesome!
Other projects used on this card include Cuttlebug embossing folder, green cardstock, Corner Chomper, pearl gems from Hobbycrafts, and some really yummy green damask flocked paper that lived in my scrap box, so unfortunately I don’t know the manufacturer.
Thanks for popping by. I have a video I am working on that I want to share with you soon, so what this space!
Have a great day!
Such a pretty card, love all the texture going on.
