'Happy Carebearth Day' Shaker Card {video}

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope you are ready for a little visit to Nostalgia Central, as the card that i have to share today features a super cute CAREBEAR!!

Ever since i picked up the Bear Necessaties stamp set from SimonSaysStamp, i have been planning to make a card with a carebear, and then i realised yesterday that one of the bears has a moon and star on it’s belly and the stamps in the Mama Elephant Unicorns and Rainbows set prettied much matched the design completely! How cool is that?

I used some of the cloudy stamps from this Unicorns and Rainbows stamp set to build up a background on some watercolour cardstock, and used a masking technique to cover these images when i inked the background with distress inks. I purposely kept the colours soft to create a ethereal and whimsical background! I think it turned out super cute!

If you have seen the SSS Bear Necessities stamp, you might realise that this little guys face looks different. Thats because i used a heart stamp from Wplus9 to give him his trademark heart nose, and i added different eyes from a stamp in the Lawn Fawn Critters of the Sea stamp set. I think it made him much more friendly and cheery! aww. cute little bedtime bear!

At the last minute i decided to make this card into a shaker card, and the greeting was a little too big to fit on to the cloud die cut, so instead i stamped the greeting onto some heat proof acetate – i love how it turned out! But i don’t think i could have stamped it so perfectly without the mist – stamping on a slick surface is tricky, especially with versa mark ink – but it all worked out! Maybe it was because i was away for work this week and hadn’t been able to craft much, and so the crafting gods were smiling down upon me! Either that, or i was just plain lucky!! 🙂

Enjoy the video and see you soon.

    Reading your article helped me a lot and I agree with you. But I still have some doubts, can you clarify for me? I’ll keep an eye out for your answers.
