You Are Wonderful! – Sequins Behind Die Cuts!

Hey guys – I thought I would share another Honey Bee Stamps project with you – one that i shared on their blog at the start of the week! Yippeee!

I am using the Beautiful Life and Celebration Box stamp sets, along with the Hello Gorgeous dies and some luscious sequins. <3

This card was inspired by a happy accident! For a previous project, I had die cut the word ‘hi’ from black cardstock using the Hello Gorgeous dies. I took out the die cut, and left the negative on my desk, and later when tidying up, I realised that the negative was sitting on top of a bag of sequins. You could see the sparkly sequins through the hole in the cardstock and it looked so pretty. So i decided to use this as a starting point for a new card.

I used another die to cut the black cardstock into a square speech bubble, and then on another scratch piece of white card, I stuck down a load of gorgeous Honey Bee Stamps sequins. I made sure that I covered enough of the card so that the whole aperture would be full of sequins when I layered the die cut speech bubble on top. I then set this to the side to dry whilst working on the rest of the card.

Then I cut some white cardstock using a Mama Elephant die to create this scalloped frame, and then using a stencil and some ink blending brushes, I added some colour using distress inks. Working in circles, I used the yellow ink in the middle, then pink, then added some light green to the outermost sections. It is really subtle, and hard to see in the photo, but it gives such a lovely soft touch to the card.

I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the ‘You are wonderful’ image onto the centre of the cardstock, using stamps from the Beautiful Life stamp set.  Next I added some small party / confetti images from the Celebration Box set.

To finish off the whole card, I used some diamond embellishments from the Frozen Dew Drops embellishment pack, along with some tiny stars from the Baby Boy sequin pack.

Et Voila! That’s the card! I hope you have enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Lesley
