Baby Girl Card: Laundry Day

{ birthday blog candy is still open for entries – to enter check out this post}

Pink, pink, pink

Being the first Miss Oman in FOUR generations, when we arrived at Granny’s house last week little miss Pi’s room came complete with a selection of newly bought clothes: vests and onesies, tops and leggings, cardies and dresses. After having four boys I think Mum O is enjoying spending time in the pink aisles of the stores.

And today I have a pink, girly card to share. I bought this really cute stamp a little while ago, but its only recently I’ve been playing with it.

Cute, huh?

I sketched this out, err, about a milllllion years ago, but somehow it got left unloved for ages! I’m glad it finally made it in the end! Here it is —>

I made the grass by just using my normal scissors, but i kinda wish i had one of these.

and why didn’t anyone tell me about how awesome the Antique Linen distress ink is? It’s been on my shelf for months and its only now that i’ve discovered how lovely it looks on white cardstock, creating a subtle, soft, vintage look. Yummy! I buy my distress inks at Country View Crafts by the way – cheapest i’ve ever seen them, and FREE shipping too!

This year my hubs and I celebrated our fourth anniversary, but that is nothing compared to my Mummy and Dad who celebrated their FORTIETH year last week. Geeez! What an amazing thing!

To celebrate the family got together for a munch-up, but unfortunately we couldn’t make it over to Ireland to join the gang. 🙁

But everyone had fun, and I got to make a card.

I’ve used a selection of papers from a Christmas line (ssshhhhh, don’t tell anyone!) and i’ve used a doily to add a little pretty. Do you like how i’ve added little pearls to the doily? I also used some mirri card (which I haven’t used in ages) and gold ribbon.

Happy 40th Anniversary Mum and Dad.

Happy Saturday everyone

It’s been a long week for us chicks, with something on the agenda everyday, but I have to say that the busy-ness has kept me out of mischief, and has tired out bambino so much that she has been sleeping like sleeping beauty herself.

As i’ve managed to post a video for the last two weekends, I thought I would keep up this trend and share another vid with you today. You never know, it may even become a tradition!

Today’s card is a sympathy card. I don’t make a lot of these because there is something about sympathy cards that just doesn’t feel pleasant. I guess its only natural to not get excited about making such a card.

I like this technique of building a background to the card using ink and stamps, as you can make the card subtle and demure. I hope you enjoy the video.

I usually post a picture or two as well, but it seems that I forgot to take one before sending off the card. Sorry about that.

Have a great weekend, i’m off to find ribbon for my new typewriter!
