Card Making

Three little quickies to share today. I’m selling some of my cards over at Craig’s work, so I have been trying to conscientiously make more cards which aren’t too girly, because it turns out that most of the Computer Games industry are boys.

First a birthday boy card, accented with a metal embellishment by Making Memories. I love how the bright colours contrast with the silver stripes and metallic rub on.

Every big company have to send one of these every now and again- A leaving card. I thought this bug was cute. I just doodled the text myself with my white gel pen.

And because I couldn’t stay away from girly for too long…. a cupcake congratulations card!

Fathers' Day Card For Granda

HI there,

I didn’t want to post this until Granda O had definitely received it, so apologies that its a little ‘after the fact’. Nevertheless, this design could be used for a Man Card for any occasion I guess. Plus, its never too early to start crafting for next years Fathers’ Day! 🙂

Sooooo…a pack of toothpicks just happened to make its way into the craft room. And everything in the craft room is fair game in my eyes! Hey Presto – a card featuring these little flags…made from my favourite – SCRAPS!

Please don’t throw away all those lovely pieces of pattern paper which are barely bigger than an inch. Just think small and discover ways in which you can give new life to them on a card such as this.

I’ve made a video about another card I have put together using scraps of paper, so i’ll be sharing this with you soon.

Until then, enjoy the 72 degree sunshine or the thunder & lightening – whichever happens to be blessing your area right now. Some of us lucky people have both within 24 hours!

{p.s. – the Granda stamp is from the Relatives stamp set by Dovecraft – a really useful little stamp set!}

{p.p.s. – one of our winners, Nicola Joliffe, you still haven’t sent me your address. If you’re out there, drop me an email at lez(at)hungryheffycrafts.com}

Hi there,

I’ve been in a krafty mood recently, and by that i mean that my Kraft cardstock has been severely depleted in the last few weeks. For some reason I have fallen in love with it all over again.

SO i’ve been making a few cards with kraft, and will be sharing videos here on the website, but for now – just a quick two minute card using scraps and a little stamping.

It couldn’t really be easier. I stamped the woodgrain stamp with Walnut stain distress ink, and then used a small punch to punch out hearts from my scraps. A little white gel pen and a metal clip later…and a cute card is born! Who says cute can’t be super easy?

A secret…this card was originally a mistake. I had meant to stamp the top section of my card, but after i had stamped it, i realised the crease was on the right {d’oh!} – so i meant that had stamped the wrong side.  Whoops! Rather than throw it away, i just set it aside because i knew inspiration would hit eventually and it could be turned in to a bootiful card!
