Card Making

Hi everyone.

Hope you all had a spook-tacula Halloween? But now that it’s November [YES November, hard to believe isn’t it] we can’t delude ourselves any longer. Summer sunshine is a long and distant memory, rain has started to grace us with its presence, and the evenings are getting darker and darker. Its starting to feel like I need an umbrella and a torch anytime I want to go outside.

But now that we have got Halloween out of the way, the countdown to Christmas is most definitely starting soon. With only seven and a half weeks until Dec 25, we all need to start thinking about the festive season.

My sister has finished all her Christmas shopping, and I haven’t even begun. She’s one of these people who likes to pick things up all year round – whereas I like to build up the excitement and then make my Christmas shopping day some thing to look forward to. An event that I relish in with delight. I’m already browsing through my calendar to see if i can pencil in a date.

But never mind Christmas shopping, what about Christmas crafting!? Do you make handmade Christmas cards for everyone? Maybe just a few for those special people? I’ve been looking through my Christmassy papers and am going to have a few projects to share soon, but for now I wanted to remind you of the FREE downloadable craft class which gives you free step-by-step instructions on how to make this cool Origami Christmas tree, which looks fabulous on cards, scrapbook pages and even potted in a little terracotta pot. All you need is paper, a trimmer, a little bit of adhesive and a few coffee stirrers “borrowed” from Starbucks.

This craft class is totally free for you to use, all we ask is that if you like this then please share it with your friends on by using the buttons bellow (facebook, twitter etc.). Thanks.

A Creepy Crawly Card

See larger image

I took out my Cuttlebug for this card, and it was very fitting that I should use my ‘Bug, because this card features another creepy crawly – the much loathed spider!

I’m not one of these people who are afraid of spiders, in fact i’m usually that person that has to come to the rescue of our eight legged friend when they appear. Although I must say that last weekend, whilst hanging clothes outside to dry, i noticed that there was a spider web strung across the whole width of the garden, about 15 feet. As I edged closer to inspect the wonder of natures art, I saw a HUGE spider that would have made any grown man run away. I actually got shivers down my spine. Later on that day when Craig was putting stuff into the compost bin, he edged his way slowly up the garden waving a big stick in front of him, left and right so that we didn’t get trapped by neither Shelob or Aragog. I’m sure the neighbours must have thought we were mad.

So whether you are a friend of these creepy creatures, or indeed a foe, i hope you like todays Halloween card.

Pumpkin Power!

See larger image

Another halloween card today, once again with the SEI stamp set ‘Eerie Alley’, but guess what…I found some papers amongst my stash that were spookily perfect for this time of year.

The DCWV Rockstar & Rock Queen collections have a few punk-ish designs in the pack with skulls and crossbones, which could be used as great background paper or as focal points on Halloween cards and layouts. The chipboard piece from yesterdays card was from the Rock Queen chipboard box, and I’ve used some of the pieces of pattern paper too.

So for today, a quick and easy card made by creating a border using the Owl stamp from the set, the word ‘Boo’ and by embossing the pumpkin for a scarily shiny finish to the card. Mwuahahahaha!

thanks for stopping by and dont forget to leave me a comment here
