Free Craft Class

Hi everyone.

Hope you all had a spook-tacula Halloween? But now that it’s November [YES November, hard to believe isn’t it] we can’t delude ourselves any longer. Summer sunshine is a long and distant memory, rain has started to grace us with its presence, and the evenings are getting darker and darker. Its starting to feel like I need an umbrella and a torch anytime I want to go outside.

But now that we have got Halloween out of the way, the countdown to Christmas is most definitely starting soon. With only seven and a half weeks until Dec 25, we all need to start thinking about the festive season.

My sister has finished all her Christmas shopping, and I haven’t even begun. She’s one of these people who likes to pick things up all year round – whereas I like to build up the excitement and then make my Christmas shopping day some thing to look forward to. An event that I relish in with delight. I’m already browsing through my calendar to see if i can pencil in a date.

But never mind Christmas shopping, what about Christmas crafting!? Do you make handmade Christmas cards for everyone? Maybe just a few for those special people? I’ve been looking through my Christmassy papers and am going to have a few projects to share soon, but for now I wanted to remind you of the FREE downloadable craft class which gives you free step-by-step instructions on how to make this cool Origami Christmas tree, which looks fabulous on cards, scrapbook pages and even potted in a little terracotta pot. All you need is paper, a trimmer, a little bit of adhesive and a few coffee stirrers “borrowed” from Starbucks.

This craft class is totally free for you to use, all we ask is that if you like this then please share it with your friends on by using the buttons bellow (facebook, twitter etc.). Thanks.

Desk Calendar

AHH HAAAA, the magic of forward planning! I am actually on holiday this week, so as you are reading this I am likely in a little cafe sipping coffee whilst eating a ‘pain au chocolat’ or maybe even seven or eight ‘creme caramels’. Honestly, I need to confess something now – when I lived in France for a year at Uni, I carried a spoon in my bag wherever I went so that I could always be prepared for a creme caramel should the urge take me. I know i should be ashamed but i’m not, they are far too delicious for regrets!

So whilst I am hopefully enjoying a wonderful holiday taking lots of photos for my future scrap projects, I have got something special planned for you!

See over on the right hand side of the home page, there is a little section called Free Downloable Craft Classes, and I haven’t had one for you in ages. So, my gift to the crafty community today is another Free Craft Class for your inspiration and exploration.

This craft class may seem a little out of season, but hey, I am always behind the times (especially when it comes to fashion) so I don’t see it as a big problem. It is step by step instructions on how to make a beautiful Desk Calendar. And the beauty of making your own calendar is that you can start it at whatever month you like, so you don’t have to wait until January before you can use it.

As this Craft Class is downloadable, you have the freedom to save the project onto your computer, or print out the instructions and then complete the project in your own time. Or you can even make copies to share with your friends at a craft class or crop. So why don’t you give it a try?

So here it is:

This class is completely free, the only thing we ask you to do is share it with your friends on facebook, twitter etc by using the buttons below. Thanks!

Origami Tree Craft Class (right click to save as)

Due to popular demand, the second ever Hungry Heffy Crafts Free Craft Class is featuring the Origami Christmas tree. You may have seen this project at one of my demonstrations, or perhaps recognize it from an earlier blog entry for Glamour Dust. I must admit that the step-by-step photos did not turn out as crisp as i would have liked, however i think that it is still easy to follow the instructions and clear to see what folds are required.

Although this project may look a little daunting at first, in reality it is quite simple and works great as a trick for amusing crafty kids, especially over the Christmas school holidays. Once again, as this Craft Class is downloadable, you have the freedom to save the project onto your computer, or print out the instructions and then complete the project in your own time. So why don’t you give it a try? Download the second ever HHC Free craft class here (right click to save as) and don’t forget to share it with your friends.

I hope you enjoy making these little trees as much as i do.  As always, don’t forget to Leave a comment and until next time, Merry Christmas Everybody!

‘What is a HHC craft class?’

These are step by step tutorials which you can download to use personally or print copies to use in a craft group. The file is in PDF format, so should be quick and easy to use, and you can save it to your computer in case you want to save it for later. The craft classes will feature a variety of topics: scrapbook layouts, card making techniques, origami and paperfolding instructions, and also general crafts such as felting and stitchcraft. In addition, they will vary in difficulty so that beginners and professional crafters alike will find something for their amusement and pleasure. It is a brand new addition to Hungry Heffy Crafts, so let me know what your thoughts are, and as usual, requests are always more than welcome!
