Piper

Hello my crafty friends!

Only a few more sleeps until Santa gets here, and before he arrives with a sack full of treats, I wanted to %image_alt%share another treat with you guys! Thats right, as a Christmas gift to all of you, we have an extra special video tutorial featuring my daughter Piper Oman, age 5!

It has become somewhat of a tradition for Piper to ‘help out’ and be featured in a HHC Christmas Special video – and this year, she was pretty much able to do most of it on her own. (Proud Mumma!) Scroll down to the bottom a link to one of her other videos that is on YouTube!

This year,  Piper is sharing how she (with a little help from her crafty Mummy) made these cute gift tags for her Teachers’ Christmas gifts! She uses dies to cut tags, banners and greeting words, and also demonstrates dry embossing using cuttlebug embossing folders. She uses the MISTI stamping tool to stamp and heat emboss a message – with help from Mum when it came to the hot work! And of course there is a few sing songs in there as well! LOL

To speed things along, she chose some pre-coloured stamped images that I had in my stash – ones that I had stamped and coloured with copics during a trip to Starbucks. That tends to be where I catch up on my colouring! Heehee!

I made sure there were enough santa hats and candy canes for each present, as I knew that she would want to give her chosen critters some accessories! She got such a kick out of putting the candy canes in the mouths of the critters! What a sweetie!

To finish the tag we added some jingle bells, a ribbon bow and a felt snowflake attached with a piece of bakers twine. On the back, she used the ‘To’ and ‘From’ stamp from Honey Bee Stamps Special Delivery set so she could then write a message on the back!

You can see another one of Piper’s videos here (when she was three years old)- Piper’s Santa Handprint Card.

Morning Crafty friends, Hope you are all well!
Whilst most of you guys are starting to think about getting ready for returning to school, I am only getting round to sharing these cards that I made for Piper’s teachers at the end of term.  I decided to skip over the apple themes, mugs and pencils galore, and just give the teachers a gift card so they could treat themselves. But I wanted to make the present special by incorporating the gift card into the design of a handmade card.

For these cards, the Fairy Friends stamps from Lawn Fawn were perfect, and the sentiment ‘thank you fairy much’ worked a treat! Because I knew that I needed to do three cards, I stamped a selection of fairies and flowers off camera and coloured these with my copic markers whilst indulging in a little Netflix action one evening. For the card, I used some dies from Lawn Fawn and Paper Smooches, and I also used some stamps from @HoneyBeeStamps on the tag that went inside. Also, I used an alpha stamp set to stamp the word ‘pull’ onto the tab, but unfortunately I don’t know the manufacturer of that stamp set – but if you see it in the video and recognise it, be sure to let me know. 🙂

Here’s a close up of one of the cards!

Orange seemed like a summery colour scheme to go for! I actually don’t use orange very much, and i like to challenge myself every now and again to work outside of the box!

I stamped the bluebell image and then fussy cut the individual flowers to create another style of tulip flower for the background. I actually did this before i realised that there was already a tulip stamp in the set! Silly billy!

For the little fairy at the front in the centre, i created my own wobbler so that she could be ‘flying’ – well, it kinda does look like she is floating above the surface of the card and its nice that she has a little movement. For more details on how i made this, check out the video.

Behind the framed scene, I created a pocket big enough to fit a cute tag where I could attach the gift card, with a little pull tab on the top, where i attached a flying fairy.

Of course I had to get little miss PrincessPi to write the teachers names on the tag! For this side of the tag i used some #honeybeestamps images to embellish it! The heart is from the Beautiful Life stamp set, and the ‘to’, ‘from’ and ‘from my heart to yours’ stamp is from the Special delivery stamp set.

Well, I will leave you guys with the video! enjoy!

Hello everyone, Its the weekend! YAY!
I have been away for work all week, and I am feeling some severe crafty withdrawal symptoms over here! I am so glad to be home so I can get crafty this weekend!

I am also really excited to share a card featuring one of the BRAND NEW stamp sets from Honey Bee Stamps that is getting released this week! OH YOU WILL LOVE IT!!

You probably know that one of my favourite things to do when making cards, is to mix and match my stamp sets to create unique greetings and sentiments! I find it so fun, and it opens up a world of possibilities!

So when Michelle mentioned that there will be a new stamp set called SENTIMENT BUILDER, I nearly died with excitement!

There are DOZENS of stamps crammed into one stamp set- and you will not believe how many phrases are possible with this set! Be sure to hop on over to the Honey Bee Stamps shop – this stamp will soon be revealed, along with LOTS of other awesome stamps! let’s just say, if you have seen the Bless Your Heart stamp set, then you are going to LOVE-LOVE-LOVE what is coming to the shop this week! WOOHOOO!!

So lets talk about today’s card, which showcases not only this awesome new ‘Sentiment Builder‘ set, but also features the ‘Beautiful Life‘ set.

I wanted to make a card for our childminder Shirley, who is simply awesome in every single way! Piper adores her, and we are so thankful that she enjoys going to Shirley’s house every day. Sometimes it is a challenge to get her back home again at the end of the day, as she sees Shirley as one of the family, and totally makes herself at home over there! That makes me a very happy mummy!

I wanted the words to do the talking on this one, so the focal element of this card is a vellum panel where i stamped and embossed the bespokely built sentiment using versa mark ink and Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Oh i love that colour! The word ‘Wonderful’ is from the ‘Beautiful Life‘ set, but ALL THE OTHER WORDS are from the ‘Sentiment Builder‘ stamp set! And believe me, there are SOOO many more stamps in it also!!

To create the background panel, I used the heart stamps from the ‘Beautiful Life‘ set – these are awesome because you stamp the bottom layer, then stamp a brush mark layer over the top – i love how it turned out! I decided to stamp the hearts in threes- kinda like a three leaf clover. Then I used one of the small confetti images to fill in the gaps around the hearts!

Because the stamped background was pretty busy, I noticed that the vellum panel wasn’t opaque enough and there was a lot of colour showing through the vellum, making the stamped words harder to read. So to fix it, i just die cut two vellum panels and stacked them up with a little glue pen! Et Voila!!! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, and please do buzz by www.honeybeestamps.com to see the rest of the release! There are so many awesome stamp sets and MORE!

You can also check out loads more sneak peeks over on Instagram using the HoneyBeeStamps hashtag! That’s where i am heading now! See you there!
