Piper

Just wanted to share a quick photo of the newest Olympic Gold medalist.

Britain has been overcome with Olympic fever and its fantastic to see so many inspiring and motivating individuals who are acting as fabulously positive role models for todays youth.

To launch the Olympics, the nursery had an Olympic theme dressing up day so I bought a 2 pack of polo shirts at Sainsbury’s, cut them apart and sewed them back together to make this tennis dress for Pi. The medal is plastic, bought at a party shop last year, but i put a few stitches into the cord to sew it onto the dress, this way Piper couldn’t pull it or choke on it, but the bottom bit is loose so she can look at it and hold it in her hands. And see those ‘tennis’ balls – actually yellow balls from the ball pit with a little bit of sharpie magic. haha.

It’s Pipers first Sports Day tomorrow. I can’t wait! I’m not much good at sporty things, and given that Piper has only managed to learn to walk in the last week or so its not likely that she will be fully coordinated for the sporting events. Our hopes all rest on Daddy!

We had the best weekend. We took Piper for her first ever visit to the beach. It was lots of fun. At the start Piper didn’t want to put her feet in the sand, which was hilarious, but by the end she was walking out into the sea until it covered half her body, (the mummy got anxious and insisted that we return to the shallower waters). It was a beautiful day and whats best, our friends M&H came too- which meant that we had a few photographers with us! Yeay, family photos!

before too long she was wanting to run along whilst holding our hands.

Mesmerised by the way feet were sinking in the wet sand. Aww.

I love her wee face in this photo! Her very first sand castle! Awwww. She was so amazed. I tried to lift her foot to get her to stand on it, but she just swung her body weight the other way and pushed me away, giving me the dirties look e.v.e.r! HAHA

 …and in my crafty life…

This card kinda reminds me of the beach too with the yellow and blue tones. I wanted to try out my new chevron stamp from Studio Calico and Hero Arts and i just love the tone-on-tone look. So pretttttttty! The butterfly is a Quickutz die, cut from an old french novel bought at the charity book shop. The stamp is from an Ali Edwards stamp set, and I’m lovin’ the font. It looks grungy and distressed but still very cool.

Thanks for stopping by.

Piper and I had a busy weekend.
Our friends M&H returned from a suuuuper long honeymoon and I wanted to give them a welcome treat that they would NEVER forget!
There has been some brainstorming. Some planning. Some creative rhyming. Some shopping, and a huge amount of sneaky conspiring!
It was so much fun to set up this surprise. Take a look…

I’m sure it was fun to find, but it was also very fun to set up. Piper and I were in giggles all day!

We got so many laughs when we were walking down the street with this…piper kept pointing up and saying ‘cloud!’. CUTE!!
