I’m back, as promised, to share today’s Miss You Monday card. Today is a simple, generic card, perfect for almost any occasion, as it simply says ‘hi’. Sometimes you don’t need to say much more than that!
This card is inspired by the way that in the good ol’ days, when every little boy and girl wanted a paper round as their first job! The papers would come folded with a a little piece of paper wrapped around it to hold it secure.
The card is simply scored twice to create a trifold base, but to add a little bit of interest I cut away the right edge into curves so you can see the coloured insert peeping through! The sleeve of the card is the fun bit, because it can be decorated in anyway you want. I used some Heidi Swapp chipboard flower shapes, some buttons and string, along with a few stickers from my box of tricks, and for a little bit of pizzazz, I stamped a flourish into the inside using a heroarts stamp and distress ink. Above all I love the glittery card from the DCWV glitter stack, which is bright, colourful and summery.
Thanks for stopping by, Leave me a comment here.
Don’t forget that I have a treat for you this week, as every day i will be sharing thank you cards for all those amazing teachers out there! See you then.

I am having lots of fun with two of the most recent additions to the craft stash – a background stamp in the Unity April KOTM, and these ‘Big Sentiments’ stamps from personal Impressions. One of the fun things I found is that I can make really lovely notecards with them- in a flash. What a great gift for friends and family – a selection of notecards so that they too can be ready for any occasion!! ♥
Here’s how simple it is:
1. For ease, I use card blanks – so take one and fold it in half along the crease.
2. Use a paper punch, punch a circle out of a post-it note, making sure you cut through a piece with the adhesive. Then stick this onto the card near the right hand edge.
3. Ink up the background stamp. I’ve used a selection of distress inks for a pop of colour, then stamp along the right hand edge, over the post it note.
4. As the card is taller than the stamp, trim the top edge off the card using a trimmer, so the stamped image fills the full height of the card.
5. Take this thin strip of excess card, and lay on a scrap piece of paper or a craft sheet. Then swipe the ink pad over the top to colour the card strip completely.
6. Using sticky tape, adhere this strip along the left edge of the stamped panel.
7. Remove the post it note circle and stamp a greeting in the masked circle.
8. To define the circle, I also used a circle ‘love frame’ stamp from Heidi Swapp, which luckily was the same size as the punched circle. ♥
I love the finished card, and a set just multiplies the fun really.
Don’t you think?
