Last Monday I shared a Big Brother card for MANday Monday, and today i am sharing the card that i made for R’s little brother, Samuel – the new arrival!

The family came into work last week and I literally squealed with excitement. Little Samuel was so teeny tiny that he hardly looked real. Good news is that he is out of hospital (which is great news, seeing as he arrived 7 weeks early). Its clear to see that the whole family were delighted.

I know the over sized bow is a bit girly, but i think i pulled it off! I just love the way it gives lots of dimension to the card, and reminds me of a present – after all aren’t babies the most precious gift we can ever have?

Welcome to the world little one.

As i was flicking through some of the photos which i recently got printed, I spied this one and decided to get scrappy.  In hindsight i think it was probably due to a hankering for some sunshine {c’mmon Summer!!! Where are you?!?!} but i have to say that i love the way her wee face is beaming with a big smile. We were simply in the garden, playing with some toys in an inflatable paddling pool (no water), and every time Miya (cat) passed by, Piper would giggle with glee. She looks so very small in this photo, boy how time flies!

For this layout i used the blocks as a starting point to create a colourful design in the background. The rest took life from there. I didn’t get too hung up on what papers i was using so please forgive me if my product listing isn’t very extensive. I pulled a lot of papers from my stash, mainly because most of these are bright colours and i wanted to have a nice, bold, bright palate for this summery layout.

I didn’t  want a lot of journaling for this layout, so a few lines of writing was the perfect amount. Look at that ladybug that was hiding in my stash! cute!

Here’s some more photos of the close ups. Thanks for stopping by. x

A huge shout out to our dearest friend Caelia. The big 3- 0! Happy Birthday Girl!

I had lots of fun with this card, and used mainly scraps which always makes me feel super happy because it feels like more of an achievement. lol.  I creased lines on some blue paper and folded it into a fan to make the cupcake wrapper, and as soon as i had done it i realised that i have a die that does all the hard work for me, whooooopsie. Such a silly billy!  Never mind!

I trimmed the front panel by an inch or so and put some blue paper on the section behind. I love the way it peeps out. And see that blue stripy edge – lovely jubbly wash tape. hmmmmm. ♥

I wanted colour, whimsy, and of course some sweetness for my sweet Caelia. The cupcake top was cut free hand and i used worn lipstick distress ink on the edges with a blending tool. The cherry on top is actually a big brad from my stash. It looks really cool! yummy.

Happy Birthday Caeli. xx
