Our best friends M&H got married yesterday, and boy was it an amazing day! Everything was simply perfect, quite fitting really as they are so very perfect for each other. The rain even held up for a while so we could get some photos outside. Which was a miracle itself.
The venue was amazing, the decor was sublime, the boys looked so very dapper and Helen, woah, she was simply breathtaking. The most beautiful bride ever. I cried so much. I cried when H walked up the aisle (even though i was hidden behind the viewfinder of the camera), I cried when i was finished reading the poem in the service (thank you so much for the amazing opportunity to do that xx) and I cried when they read their self-composed vows to one another. I even cried again the next day when I looked through my photos, and i would be lying if i said there isn’t a tear in my eye now. {I’m such a sucker!}
We love you guys so much. Thank you for an awesome day, we really couldn’t be happier for you two. Congratulations on becoming man and wife, Mark & Helen.

How could I resist this?
I saw it. I drooled over it. I walked away.
I thought about it the whole way around the shop.
I came back to it for another look. I couldn’t resist it. I bought it. AND I LOVE IT! hahaha.
It was bought at Hobbycrafts in case you are wondering. Go figure! It was one of their gift items that are seasonal so that was one of the main reasons i couldn’t resist – it was a one time stock item. Im glad i did buy it.
The wooden spools are from The Ribbon Reel, and they look perfect on there holding my beloved bakers twine, don’t ya think? {swoooooon}
Only one thing thats kinda bugging me though: cream wire on a white wall. I think i may just paint a big purple rectangle behind it so it pops right out at ya! 🙂

Time for another MAN-day Monday! whoohoo
You may remember me speaking of Alfie in one of my previous posts (Mini Canvas as a Valentines Gift). Piper and him are nearly always hanging out at nursery when I collect her at the end of the day so I sometimes call him her boyfriend (don’t tell Craig, he says she’s not allowed to date until she is 21!).
It was Alfie’s second birthday a few weeks back and on the party invite it mentioned that Alfie loves dinosaurs so for his birthday card i knew that i would be using this set of Woodware Clear stamps from my stash. Its been ages since i used them, but whenever i do, i am reminded of how awesome they are!
The images are really sweet and are perfect for decoupage so i stamped them with black memento ink and coloured the images with distress ink and a water brush (check out the technique video here if you want to learn how to colour with distress inks). Rather than using foam pads to create dimension between layers, I just stuck the layers directly on top of each other. The card i used was quite sturdy so the effect is subtle, but definitely more sturdy (which is important when little fingers tend to pull at anything they can grasp).

The chipboard letters were pre-printed, (i think they are ki-memories, but i didn’t buy them recently so i can’t really be sure) and i loved the bright colours. Alfie is a not-so-common name so I wanted to incorporate this into the design. Also, by keeping the front free from any mention of birthday or age, the card can be used as a door plaque or wall hanging for years to come.

Happy birthday little man!
xx
