Hello everyone, It’s Lesley here, aka Hungry Heffy.

I am thrilled to be hijacking the Chibi-blog today with a fun interactive project which features some Heffy Doodle stamps. And, if you are familiar with my work, you probably know that i LOVE an interactive card, so not only does this card light up it also has a built in shaker element!

The video above walks you through how I made it, but if you prefer photos – let’s take a look!

I started by cutting two A2 pieces of card, and then used a scalloped die to trim down one panel. Next I did some ink blending using dye ink, and splattered it with water and white watercolour paint. I used some alpha dies to cut out  some letters as well -‘U GUYS R’.

For the images I stamped two elephants from the sweet Heffy Doodle Elephant of Surprise stamp set (SSS* | AZ*)  and coloured them with my copic markers. I also stamped a balloon from this set, and added a heart onto it using the Heffy Doodle Happy Snappy Crocs set (SSS* | AZ*) – this is where I will add my Chibitronics LED.

I used a pink light from the Chibitronics Tropicals set  (CHI*) – I love this colour! I added a simple circuit to my base layer, and put the battery over by the bottom right, where I would add my second elephant.

I added a small ‘press here’ image onto this elephant using the Heffy Doodle Interactively Yours stamp set (SSS* | AZ*). There’s so many great images in this set for interactive card lovers like me!

Before adhering my top panel in place, I added acetate behind my die cut letters, added a foam tape frame and sprinkled on some Honey Bee Stamps (HBS*) sequins. I used smaller sequins because I didn’t want my shaker to be too thick. I added a little ground using a stitched landscape die (SSS*), stuck down my elephants and to finish off I added the word ‘fabulous’ cut from craft foam using a Honey Bee Stamps die (HBS*).

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed the video. Please feel free to check out my profile over on instagram, and follow me for more crafty projects. 😀

Happy Crafting

Hello crafty friends,

I am on a Bitty Bear drive at the moment. 🙂 I had this one sitting on my desk, I had coloured it last week with my Zig clean color real brush markers, and I was inspired to create a little tag to feature this cute guy.

I was inspired by Vera over on instagram. She made a collection of sweet tags, using white cardstock against bright colours. I wanted to make a sweet shaker tag in a similar style.

I used a Paper Smooches tag die and then using Cheery Lynn embossing dots circle dies I added two circular lines of dots, before cutting out a circle with a spellbinders circle die. I like the texture and interest this gives the project, and helps draw the eye to the centre of the project.

I used a little pattern paper from Echo Park on the inside, and for ease used double sided sticky foam with the tag die. Inside the shaker I put clear seed beads and some pink and silver sequins from Lucy’s Things.

I didn’t really want to introduce another colour, and the white die cut seemed to get a little lost against the white tag, so i used a shadow technique to help it stand out. I cut the ‘sending’ die (from SSS) from both white card and grey card, and layered one on top of the other, using my zig two way glue pen. It makes it stand out a bit more.

The LOVE letters are cut using a Quickutz die which has all the letters on one die. I used scraps of pink card for this. I keep a drawer full of coloured card scraps for exactly this reason.

To finish off, a little polka dot ribbon and yellow bakers twine! Et Voila! It is done! And what I really like is that it is super sturdy because of the foam on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Crafting!

CCWM – Hooray! Fall is here!

Hello everyone!

I am calling it! Technically, if you were to go ‘by the books’ it is not ‘quite’ Autumn yet, but I am ready to switch on Autumn in my house!

Fall is my most favouritist season. I LOVE IT! I love the smell, the food, the warmth, the colours, the EVERYTHING! And every year, I get super excited about Autumn. We also decorate our mantle with lots of Autumnal elements – just to bring the fantastic fall-ness inside!

So I simply had to make a Fall card on this week’s Come Craft With Me!

I used two stamp sets from Lawn Fawn – ‘Jumping for Joy’ and ‘Yay, Kites’ and mixed these with some dies from Mama Elephant. I love the sweet scalloped edge on this All Prettied Up die.

I am still suffering from some RSI (Repetitive Strain injury) so I didn’t want to be doing too much ink blending…. but i simply couldn’t do ANY! Just a little for the background! I used my distress inks with a foam applicator.

The fox is super cute. I love him. I coloured him and the leaves with my copic markers, as well as a few images for the inside of my card. Here’s a peek.

Because my card base was a dark colour, I layered on a piece of white card, cut with the Outside In stitched rectangle dies, also from Lawn Fawn.

I am off to take a big box out of the attic, so I can decorate my mantel and get into the spirit of Autumn….. and maybe I will pick up a cheeky Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks!  Why not!

😀

Have a great day!

Lesley
