Good morning everyone!

I am over on the Honey Bee Stamps Blog  today I am sharing a card with a fun acetate front that showcases the Zen Floral stamp set and the Fabulous honey cuts die!

For today’s card, I started by playing with the awesome flowerhead stamps and paired these up with the tall stem stamp, and I stamped them in a line so it almost looks like a little garden. You can create lots of different styles from this one set because the stems and flower heads are separate images – I love how this gives lots of versatility!

I coloured them using some copic markers and kept to a warm colour palate of reds, yellows and oranges! I think I was feeling particularly summery that day! 🙂

Originally I had the idea to put this stamped panel on the front of the card, but then had a mental image of looking through a window, out to a garden of flowers, so I thought it would be super fun to create a card with an acetate front panel.

To add some interest to the front, I stamped the long border image from the Zen Florals set to some strips of cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next I scribbled over the top of the image with some gelatos, and using a damp paint brush I blended the colours together.

I love that it almost looks like a pattern paper – the stamp is so big, its perfect for achieving these kind of results! Next up I stuck the stamped flowers on the inside of the card, and decided to tie everything together with some red mirror card.

I cut thin strips to add a border to both the inside panel, and the gelato coloured strips on the front, and then I ran the Fabulous die through my Cuttlebug with the same mirror card! It cut so beautifully, and it is hard to get the full effect in the photo! It is so pretty! I even managed to find a stamp from the Beautiful Life set to coordinate with the die cut word, and I was thrilled that it fit perfectly between my stamped flowers! It must have been fate!

Thanks for joining me 🙂

Have a great day, and happy crafting!

Hey everyone and …can you even believe that it is September already!?! Before we know it, the trees will be bear and I will get to revel in my favourite time of the year – Autumn. Im already dreaming of Pumpkin Spice Lattes!

But for today, I am sharing a card with you guys featuring lots of Lawn Fawn goodness! AND it is another one of my crazy brainwave interactive cards!

You might not notice much from the photo above, but see that panel of card with the stamped greeting… you can move it back and forth and the cute kite moves too! I’m so happy it worked out in the end…not all of them do! 🙂

I used some distress inks to add colour to the background of the card, but the stamped images have all been coloured using some watercolour paints. I love the softness this gives them!

The greeting is from a stamp set called Forest Friends from My Favorite Things (MFTstamps) and the other stamps are all from the Lawn Fawn Yay, Kites set. It is so cute! I love it!

I used some crochet twine as a kite string, and attached this to both the kite and the bunny’s hand – and i love how it moves around a little when you sway the kite back and forth!

As for the mechanism inside that makes the magic happen,…. you will have to watch the video tutorial to find out more! teehee!

Thanks for stopping by, and please do leave a like on the video and subscribe in YouTube for more videos!

Oh, and before I go, two things…firstly, I want to give a huge shout out to everyone who came by HungryHeffyCrafts last week during the HoneyBeeStamps Blog Hop – it was a blast, and I hope found lots of inspiration along the way! Secondly, I will be over on the Honey Bee Stamps blog again tomorrow, so please swing by to see a fun card which features acetate, gelatos and red, shiny mirror card!

Happy Crafting my friends!

Hey crafty friends,

Its been a busy week for us bees over at Honey Bee Stamps, as we celebrate the new release! We’ve been having a blast playing with the new products, but I wanted to share a project that I made this week using one of the older set, which is actually on special offer this month – Not Too Shabby!

I was listening to the radio one day and that song ‘jar of hearts’ came on, and I was suddenly inspired to create a card using the mason jar from the Not Too Shabby set. I thought it would be fun to combine the hearts with some Chibitronic LEDs so they light up when the button is pressed!

I created the background with some dye inks and a mask cut using my silhouette, then used a circle die with the mama elephant all prettied up die to create a focal panel.

I added some ink to the frame and sprayed with some water and perfect pearls to give a shimmer distressed look. Then i stamped the jar, hearts and cute birdies, and coloured them in with copic markers.

Next I carefully cut inside the hearts with a craft knife, so when i built the paper circuit underneath, the  light would only shine out of these holes. Here’s what it looks like when its all lit up! Sweet huh?

I added a strip of card with the ‘full of love’ greeting in the middle, and mounted this unto some coordinating pattern paper, and when I made the LED circuit, I made sure the battery was directly behind the stamped message!

I admit, perhaps this is one of those cards where its not exactly obvious that there is an interactive element, so I would probably need to write a note inside the card to let the recipient know that they can press the greeting- but i think that makes the card even more fun! Who wouldn’t love a surprise like that?

Thanks for stopping by! And don’t forget to snap up this awesome Not Too Shabby set over on the #HoneyBeeStamps shop whilst it is on offer this August!

also,  you are still able to join in the Honey Bee Stamps Blog Hop for a chance to win some sweet prizes in celebration of the new release! Start the Hop by clicking HERE, and have fun! Winners will be picked tomorrow, Sunday 28th August.

ciao!
