Helly crafty friends

Friday nights are crafty nights, but unfortunately we had some issues with our stream on friday, which is why we have TWO videos below. Firstly, one where i start making the background for a Hugs and Kisses card, and the second video was from Saturday evening’s stream, where we used a different software – which thankfully meant I could continue getting crafty with you guys!

Let’s take a look at the cards i made!

First off this card inspired by a new die to my arsenal – the Hugs and Kisses die from Winnie & Walter. I first created an ink blended background, then added some X’s and O’s to the top to make it pop!

I stacked up a few layers of the hugs and kisses die using white cardstock, and topped it off with dark grey card. I love how this makes the sentiment look sturdy and bold! I added a few embellishments to finish – dew drops and diamonds from honey bee stamps and some crystals from Studio Katia.

Next up was the card everyone was waiting for! Last week, in the chat box during my stream, there was some discussion about crocs and plaid, and somehow I decided to take up the challenge – create a card with crocs in socks, plaid socks! LOL

I created an African sunset ink blended background, and built a washing line using a stamp from the Heffy Doodle Warm Hugs stamp set and some crochet twine.

I had to draw little socks for my crocs, but for the washing line, i used the stocking stamp from the Heffy Doodle Elfish Antics stamp set. How fun!

The best bit was the greeting on the inside, which was suggested by viewer Snow – You CROC my SOCKS off! mwuahahahah!! I stamped it jiggypiggly on purpose for speed, and to give a more whimsical feel.

I didn’t have much time for the last card, so i grabbed a big background stamp, some watercolour card and my colour bursts. I LOVE the way it turned out. I embossed the large stamp with white embossing, and then added my colour burst on top.

I then finished the card with a Lawn Fawn Octopus image and a foam die cut thanks sentiment, covered in glossy accents! Lovely jubbly!

And that’s all she wrote, folks! Join me next Friday for another CCWM live crafty sesh over at http://youtube.com/hungryheffy! Until then, happy crafting!

This week i cleaned out my craft room, and sorted my sequins into new storage containers… and i realised that i have sooooooo many sequins. I thought that i would make some shakers tonight – and i wasn’t going to skimp on the shakey bits!

First up, i created a three panel shaker card with a rectangle die on a A2 card. I used my distress oxides to create a fun blue background inside the shaker panels.

I added some critters from Lawn Fawn to swim in my shaker sea, and then added a Simon Says Stamp hello die to my card. I added some red ink to the top of the pink die cut, to mimic the cute octopussy.

Next up- a baby card, because my sister-in-law is being induced today! Weeeee! I can’t wait to find out if we are getting a new niece or a new nephew. If its a girl, then i am all set with this card! First up, i used a Mama Elephant heart die to create three heart apertures and added lots of sequins behind.

I used a sentiment from a Paula Pascual stamp set, but replaced the work baby with the Heffy Doodle Baby Heffy cuts die. I stacked up a few layers to give it some dimension. So cute!

So technically, this is not a shaker card at all, but it was inspired by shakers. I used some dies from Studio Katia to create a frame, and then from the inside piece, i used the Heffy Doodle stitched strips of ease dies to cut strips out of this section. Then I replaced every other strip when i stuck it all down onto some acetate.

Through the windows, I created my own rainbow using lots of buttons – another surplus in my craft stash! To turn this into a card (and to hide the fact that the last strip was wider than the rest! teehee) I added a cute leprechaun from Heffy Doodle -layered on some black craft foam. I also used the Good Luck die from the Heffy Doodle clover frames dies. I love this card a lot!

Thanks for visiting, and if you want to watch the full video on play back – it’s right here, and also on Youtube. See you next time!

Hip Hip Hooray! Nothing says a PAR-TAY like a shaker card! 😀 (…errr….just me?) Last weekend we were invited to a friends house for a celebratory gathering as her daughter Felicity turned sweet sixteen! Every time we go to Elizabeths house, I look forward to my Felicity hug and hearing about the latest school shenanigans and what she is now reading. She is one of those awesome teenagers that seemed to have skipped the whole ‘moody and moping around’ phase. I hope I get one of those when Piper gets to that age. Only another 9 years before i have to worry about a sweet sixteen for Pi… it sounds like ages away, but i am still in shock that Piper is now SEVEN!! Geez! How did that happen…..anyway…. back to the card!

Today’s shaker needed to be cute and fun – and i wanted to include books! So I reached for the Mama Elephant Page Huggers set, and used the bear and the books. While i was pulling that out, i grabbed the Mama Elephant Lunar Animals set also for the mouse and bunny. For accessories, I used some images from the Lawn Fawn Party Animals set. The balloons and big hat are from the Beary Special Birthday set from MFT.

I used floss for balloon strings to add some texture on my card and i used the Hooray honey cuts from Honey Bee Stamps. And just look at those shaky bits!! So many pretty beads, sequins and I also used some small metal discs from Cheery Lynn designs. When the light hits them just right the give a nice metallic shine!

Speaking of shaky bits, i also realised that i managed to trap a hair inside the card. HAHA! Well, too late now! I guess Felicity has a means to clone me now… although I’m pretty sure the world isn’t ready for another Heffy!

To finish up, I used the Interactively Yours set from Heffy Doodle to stamp the ‘shake me’ sentiment at the bottom. Perfect!

Happy Birthday Flick! <3
