It’s getting close to V-Day! And that means i am making some cute and sweet Valentine’s day cards. Today’s card kinda looks like i have used some patterned paper, but in fact i have created this cool sunburst effect using distress ink and a mask.
The card itself was inspired by a rub on from the Dear Lizzy collection that was in my stash. I have so many rub ons, and i think it is about time i started using some of them!
I totally forgot to take a photo of the finished card with my DSLR before it got snapped up, but luckily i had taken a few pics on my phone – sorry if they aren’t the usual high quality.
Here’s the video – enjoy! and i have some more video to share soon. I had a problem with my microphone for a while last week but my awesome, amazing hubby fixed it! yeay for fab husbands! He’s great! I think i will keep him! 🙂
Hello there crafty friends!
As soon as i saw the lunar animal stamp set from Mama Elephant, i knew i had to have it! I love these little guys so much! Animals are my favourite thing to use on cards, and i think these images are so adorable!
This was the first card i made with the set, and it was a ‘Congratulations-you-passed-your-probation’ card for Alex, at work!
I managed to mess up a little – whoops! sorry guys! – when colouring the sheep with my copic markers i was completely out of the frame – but hopefully you still enjoy the video. Here’s a close up of the little sheepy so you can see him more clearly!
I am going to get a lot of cards out of these cute stamps! I even made a whole set that i will be sharing with you soon.
Happy Sunday. Anyone else out there feeling some serious CHA-envy? I know I am. I have been watching videos on YT of sneak peeks to see the latest and greatest that the industry will bring us! I can’t wait to see all the new stuff hit the stores!
For now though, I have to make do with my current stash, and today I am sharing a card which features a little Avery Elle stamping, some Copic no-line colouring, some distress ink blending, die cutting with Mama Elephant & Lawn Fawn dies, and a greeting from SimonSaysStamp. There is even a little embossing paste action in there too.
I wanted to try out the no-line colouring which is very popular just now. I haven’t really done it much, but i love the finished look- it reminds me of some illustrations in childrens’ story books. I love the softness it gives! I think i need to practise a bit more though!
I don’t often make more than one of the same card, but i had so much fun with this one, and i loved the finished card so much that i decided to make another variation of the same card – but in pink this time!
Here is the video tutorial, walking through how i made this card – i hope you enjoy it! As for me, i am off to watch more CHA 2016 videos! Ciao! 🙂
